I’m not going to point the finger at anyone, but I took a “vacation” from The Dope for one reason - I was tired of having the same stupid arguments with the same “usual suspects” over and over - people who ignore cites and even direct quotes, or pick one phrase out of a reply to cherry pick to death, or twist the facts, or flat out lie. Some people were/are simply not worth the effort.
That’s unfair! He cannot be blamed for his programming.
Besides, he gives a syntactically correct, generically topical response that is indistinguishable from a real human poster 83.2% of the time.

My take on magellan01 is that he gets a perverse thrill out of being at the bottom of a lefty pile-on. He’ll start a thread so silly that the more sensible Righties, such as Sam Stone and Bricker, don’t even make an appearance. Then it’s 50 against 1, and he doesn’t really back down. Sometimes he’ll say, “That’s a good point… but allow me to rehash my original argument.”
I can’t decide whether such obstinance is admirable or laughable.
But either way, I don’t think he’s a moron, much less a fucking moron. Misguided and stubborn, and if he would think a little more and come to see the Light that is the Left, I’d probably welcome him.
