"Magic Spoon" High Protein Cereal (Fruity Loops version)

I’ve been meaning to try these cereals for the longest time. Normally commercial fakes don’t work for me as I can taste a lot of chemicals other people can’t. But I have to give props, this was delicious. A sugary, crunchy, dive into a childhood treat - with protein.

It even did a medium good job of flavoring the milk, though not quite as good as I remember. The texture felt right, and the flavor and scent were spot on. My only complaint was a slight film on my teeth when I was done eating. That was unpleasant. Thankfully I had a cup of hot coffee standing by which washed it away.

Has anybody tried the other flavors? Any different takes on the Fruity Loops?

I have tried several of their flavours over a few years. The Froot Loops knock off ended up being the best. There was a Cookies & Cream edition that I also quite liked. Everything else was OK to good, not great.

In the end I gave up on the brand because $4 bowls of cereal are not worth it. Cheerios and fresh berries is fine.

I am SO glad you asked!
I tried the Magic Spoon cereals, the fruity and the chocolate, and didn’t like them at all. I felt cheated because the cereal is just expensive air. It didn’t have any substance and dissolved in my mouth like cotton candy. I think that’s how they get those good numbers-- air doesn’t have any carbs.

YMMV. Thank you for the opportunity to vent my spleen about Magic Spoon!

I like the Catalina Crunch brand cereals, myself.

Tried the chocolate-y.

Immediate belly-ache.

Not worth the price. I can get a bellyache way cheaper.

I like the peanut butter, and when feeling fancy, mixing the peanut butter and chocolate. In the end, though, wasn’t really worth the cost to me.
