MAJOR CRIMES and SUITS return next week! I can't wait!

Is anyone else looking forward to the return of MAJOR CRIMES next Monday night on TNT?

Or what about the new season of SUITS starting next Wednesday night on USA?

Love me some ‘Major Crimes’

Really? I gave the first couple of eps a shot but dropped it. They lost something without Sedgewick and the whining gay hustler character was annoying and didn’t make sense.

Maybe Rusty can fucking die already. Or at least, move away.

And are Flynn and Raydor gonna make their relationship public?

Flynn might. As far as Raydor is concerned, she is still married to Tom Berenger, though she will neither speak to him nor allow him to cross her threshold. Therefore, a relationship is conveniently out of the question, leaving Flynn comically lovelorn to the great amusement of Provenza. That’s my prediction, anyway.

Maybe we’ll find out who’s been writing those letters threatening Rusty? IIRC the last letter shown being written started “Dear Sharon”.

They caught the letter writer in the season 2 finale. And did Flynn and Raydor actually go on a date? It’s clear he has a crush on her, but I thought that was as far it went.

I was exaggerating for effect. I think Flynn has a crush, but nothing has happened.

Maybe he feels that he missed on Brenda, and has to not let Sharon slip away, too.

How the heck did I miss that? Who was it? Is the episode on line anywhere?

It looks like TNT is going to rerun the last season of Major Crimes on Monday, so I will watch the last few in order to be caught up for the 8:00 season three opener.

I can’t remember how it ended, so I really need to watch the last few in order to be caught up. I wouldn’t mind seeing Rusty move on.

No, dying is a must. Terrible character, terrible actor. Real shame this has been the major long term story arc for the show. The fan hate is well known, why they didn’t wrap up the story arc last year and do something else is beyond me.

I hope Provenza stays around. Dread the retirement talk. G.W. Bailey is practically the only reason I watch the show. (And bring back J.K. Simmons.)

Also, they’re showing it tonight directly before the third season premiere. They’re actually rerunning the entire second season all day. They started at like 3 AM.

I enjoyed tonight’s Rusty-light episode, but I wonder why

Why everyone browbeats the parents when the blood types don’t seem to work out. The police never consider adoption, or surrogacy, or IVF with donor semen or donor eggs. They need to realize it’s not 1920 anymore.

Yeah, I watched those and it all came back to me.

Another episode in the “Rusty: Gay, or not?” saga. I don’t know why the show runners just can’t come out and say. Even more, I wonder why they think anyone cares.

It’s like we’re watching some 1970s show, where having a  gay character would get pitchfork and torch wielding crowds storming Hollywood (or something).

This is how the show runners handle it:

Rusty: Lt. I have something to say. I think I’m gay…ning weight.
Rusty: Lt, I want to ask. Is it wrong to want to have sex with men…y different people?
Rusty: Lt. I want to tell you. I really really like guy…ana. It’s a nice country.

Provenza is becoming Rusty’s defacto father figure, but I wonder in the last scene if he was thinking if he could stuff Rusty in a suitcase and dump him by the airport.

PS didn’t we just discuss on this board that you can’t commit suicide by car exhaust anymore, because cars are so efficient they don’t put out CO in large enough quantities to kill?

I enjoy the Rusty character and storyline because it humanizes Darth Raydor! In ‘The Closer’ she was a rigid bitch devoid of personality. There was nothing likeable about her, but her affection for Rusty (as well as the growing mutual affection between her and her squad) transform her into a much more interesting character, IMO.

BUT the idea that cops in LA would be so uncomfortable around a gay person to the point of being homophobic doesn’t make a lot of sense. If you don’t like gay people, Los Angeles is probably not a great place for you to live!

Rusty obviously thinks that being gay is bad and he feels guilt and self-hatred over his sexual orientation. They should use Dr. Morales as a positive gay role model for him.

“Darth Raydor!” Hehe

But, don’t forget the first season Closer episode where there was a gay guy that got beaten to death with a baseball bat, and Provenza dismissed it as a “homo-cide.” Admittedly, that was before Morales joined the cast, but Provenza isn’t naturally accepting. He wasn’t initially fond of Georgette when she first arrived.

I enjoy Major Crimes but it is difficult getting past the sheer improbability that Rusty and any school buddy he has with him would be quite free to ogle the crime scene photos, listen in to case analyses, often quite gruesome, and nobody would say, “Do you really think the kids should be watching and listening to this?”. Next they’ll be accompanying the cops to the actual crime scenes, just so we can catch some cute shots of the Captain surreptitiously keeping an eye on Rusty and the girl he’s with.

It’s all so utterly contrived and ridiculously unrealistic that it sometimes knocks me out of my willing suspension of disbelief. I enjoy the rest of it though so I keep watching.

Suits bores me.

I just can’t wait until the episode where it’s revealed Rusty and Chris[tine] have been having sex the entire time. All these “He’s gay… maybe… probably… definitely… maybe…” scenes have to be leading up to it, right?
