I guess I’m in a really bad area for it. Not even a hint of it working for the last four hours.
They either fixed it, or I wasn’t affected. NYC and my phone connects fine when wifi is turned off.
I’m still out here.
Going between 2 bars and SOS.
Worked fine for me in Chicago too. If it went out I never noticed. To be fair, my phone doesn’t exactly ring off the hook either so good chance I would not notice.
I just tried calling my mom, in Cleveland. Her Verizon home phone rang but then immediately disconnected, but her T-Mobile mobile is still working. I’m glad she still has communications.
The service on my phone was finally restored around 9pm. Then I got a flood of missed text messages at 9:31 pm. Since I was getting some text messages intermittently all afternoon, I now have a couple of text threads where the messages are all out of order. But things seem to be stable now.
Verizon is giving a $20 credit for the inconvenience. You have to go on the app and request it. I have no idea if it will be given to everyone or only those affected.
Is anything being offered to those who use Verizon thru a MVNO carrier, like xfinity or would that be up to the individual carriers?
If you don’t pay through Verizon I don’t see how that would work.
I agree, it’s just one more negative to using a MVNO. Sure they cost less, but you’re already being deprecated when there is high network volume, now you don’t get credit for lack of service.
Which is obviously because some people won’t find or or will forget to claim it or … Because if they can send me a text message saying the credit is available, they could have just applied it automatically.
