Thanks for all the good wishes, all! He just told me that he got a call a few minutes ago to interview for a job at Coke - something he applied for in November. Their timing was off… I coulda been set for life with Diet Coke, dagnabbit!!
At my last job, the company brought in a consultant from Pricewaterhouse Coopers to stand there while I packed up my office and left. He was somewhat surprised that I was already packed when we got to my office, and that I’d parked my car at a meter in front of the building to facilitate loading. 
Next to my boss’ reaction when my lawyer told her my demands, the PWC guy’s face was the best part about our “parting of ways.”
