Make your own proverbs

“A hard man is good to find.” Mae West

A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle.

Plus que je connais les hommes, plus que j’aime mon chat.

“It is better to remain quiet and appear a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.” Mark Twain

That which does not kill only stuns.

The wages of sin is death, but once you take out for taxes, it just leaves kind of a tired feeling. (not original)

Whoops, I was supposed to make them up. :smack:

Never mind.

  • Just because I’m an arrogant bastard doesnt’ mean I’m not better than you.
  • Better to cast pearls before the swine than after it… because at least that way you won’t get pig crap on the pearls.

Gone Chopin?

Two adages I’ve lived by:

Nothing is engraved in stone. (i.e. almost no decision can’t be fixed if it turns out to have been wrong)

What’s the worst that could happen? (i.e. when agonizing over a decision, look at the worst likely consequences to determine if it’s worth all the angst).

My former husband said many times that I had taught him these things and that they were of enormous value to him. YMMV.
