My husband and I had crossed signals wrt our debit card. I paid for the SD and he paid for somthing else. Result was that the PayPal payment for the SD bounced. How embarrassing.
If someone could spot me for a week, I can PayPal you the money back on the 3rd.

I just looked at my profile, and it says expires 4-06, but it said that right after I “paid” via PayPal. At some point soon someone’s going to realize it wasn’t in fact paid for, and that will be reset. What a mess. I apologise profusely for not checking with him or online before I PayPal’d.

Okay, I give up. Since last year, I had my membership sponsored, I thought maybe this year I could pony up the cash myself. Unfortunately, now that I have a PayPal account set up, I can’t seem to find any way to add funds to the account other than by credit card. Of course, I don’t have a credit card, which is the reason I had my membership sponsored last year in the first place, since it was the only way I could stay on the boards…
So, two questions: Is there any way in which you can add money to your PayPal account that does not involve a credit card? And, if not, could someone do me a big favor and sponsor me? Last year, I donated 5€ to the Red Cross here in exchange for a membership. Anyone willing to sponsor me can express wishes as to the charity of their choice.

auRa, just so you know, you can put funds into a Paypal account from either a savings or checking account. Mine is set up to automatically take money from my savings unless I change it to the linked credit card. You need to get the account linked with Paypal, but it has been so long since I did it, I don’t remember how. But it does take about a week.
Just so you know, the e-mail adress in your profile doesn’t seem to work (or at least the mail I sent you yesterday bounced).
By the way, there’s 50 minutes or so left, so if someone wants a last minute sponsorship, let me know. I’ll refresh the page a couple times before the deadline…

I must say that the generosity here is tremendous. I needed both a proxy and also some financiial help this time. Sunfish was willing but unable. But she referred me to a friend who could help (I don’t know the SDMB name) and everything was settled yesterday. Artemis was also willing to help.
