Making a website for ill husband

I am computer impaired. I need help.

I want to set up a website for my husband, who underwent surgery for malignant melanoma in July and will soon be starting 12 months of Interferon treatment. I don’t have a clue how to do this. I went to the site (CaringBridge) that Woeg has set up for his son and I couldn’t even follow their directions. Also, I would like to make it an option to donate to us instead of to site maintenance. His treatment is going to be expensive and he will be off work for many months. It would be nice to have a place where friends and family can go, to share stories and get updates.

I know that 99 year old people make websites everyday. I have no idea why it is so difficult for me. Does anyone have some good ideas to guide me? Or ideas where I could go to get such guidance?

Thank you.

WordPress.com - one option. It’s free.

(disclosure: I work for the company that runs it)

Well, CaringBridge is really great and designed just for what you want. Maybe you could post the specific issues you are having with the instructions and we could help decipher them.

Seconded. CaringBridge is the way to go.

but does Caringbridge allow this in particular?

Beckwall, I just sent you a PM. I’ll help ya however I can!

The solution for the donation thing is Paypal - I’ll help you with that too if you need.
