Mallard Fillmore Creator Arrested

Lilnkypoo.

Posted without comment, but in the pit, because I’m sure others will have their say.

Of course, that should be Mallard Fillmore.
Preview is my friend.
Sigh.

Far be it from me to allow another Coloradoan to be embarrassed.*

Fixed.

*You’re not Tom Tancredo, are you?

Thanks Frank!

Nope, I’m the Anti Tom. I guess that would make me Mot.

And the Prada jackboot of Nancy Pelosi’s liberal tyranny falls first upon the humor impaired!

His second booze-fueled arrest in four months? Blood alcohol of .14?

That does tend to explain the bludgeoning stupidity of the strip, eh?

The preening moralist hypocrites seem to be dropping like flies these days, don’t they?

Oooo! Does Prada make jackboots?!

I got to see some of those ads!

Tris

He is just another Heinous Ditchpig.

When the revoultion comes, comic strip artists will be the first ones up against the wall!

I don’t read the comic regularly but I have seen it a couple of times. Maybe you know it better than me. Does this make him a hypocrite? Did he ever say anything about the evils of demon alcohol in the strip? He may be an asshole for the DWI but not a hypocrite unless he has taken a stand against alcohol.

What I want to know is, during the sobriety test, did he indeed walk like a duck?

Sailboat

I don’t get the Pitting, either. I agree it’s a stupid strip, but so the creator’s arrested for DUI, so what? Where’s the “nyah, nyah”?

Except for Tom Tomorrow.

I hardly ever read it myself, unless I am reading an Op-Ed that is adjacent to the strip. I don’t know if he specifically rails against alcohol, but it is well known that he puts himself and like-minded Republicans on a higher moral shelf than “liberals”. Party of Personal Responsibility and all that.

No, we have enough graffitti on our walls…

At least this cartoonist wasn’t packing heat.

Partly I (and I hate the strip and most of the parched, half-dead “ideas” it stands for whenever it’s convenient) agree, because this is a human failing that would not ordinarily rise above all the other flaws that make each of us human.

Except that I’m sure I can remember that on more than one occasion the artist has used drunk driving to tar his targets, including references to Chappaquiddick, decades after the fact and apropos of nothing except his immediate ad hominem attack. Only blind chance separates any drunk driver from being a killer, right?

Other than that, however, the strip and its emitter should be excoriated only for the obvious reasons.

Well, if it walks like a duck, and drinks like a fish…

I like to think that I have high moral standards. I also generally consider myself conservative. However my morals may not follow what you might think is the party line. For instance most evangelical conservatives think that gambling is a sin. I think it is a great way to pass the time. Does that make me a hypocrite? No I am not violating my own moral code or preaching against something that I do. I’m certainly not defending the DWI. I just object to the use of the word hypocrite without further explaination. The guy was an asshole for putting others lives at risk.
