With all the drama of the patriot act and NSA spying, TDS and Colbert would have made for awesome viewing.
They are gone for a two week break now. If this doesnt show they are pure entertainment rather than news shows I dont know what does.

PS. Reading the BBQ and Great Debates on these topics is lots of fun, but it really doesnt cut it like Colbert’s deadpan one-liners.
Yeah, they’ll have a lot to say on those subjects. Particularly about the way Bush complained about the newspapers, I bet.

Both of them were on Last Laugh '05, which is being re-run every time Comedy Central has nothing better to show, it seems. Stephen Colbert’s thing was good, and Jon’s was funny, but I think it was mostly material he already used on the show.
Which is to say “six times a night.” Rerun Central at its finest.
