Went rock hunting at a local beach today and noticed a guy sitting a ways down on a log. Didn’t think much of it even though he was watching me because people like to sit at the beach and people watch. But I kept it in the front of my mind that there was a man watching me.
At one point he got up and moved closer and sat on another log, watching me. I thought he was going to try to give me a hard time about picking up rocks from the beach. Eventually, though, I listened to my instincts that something just wasn’t right so I turned and stared directly at him. That’s when I saw his pants were down around his ankles.
When he saw me looking he positioned himself so he was looking at me and started jerking off. I got my phone up super fast and put it to my ear. Then he quickly got up and started walking away while he was pulling his pants up. I took pictures and a video of him and he turned and saw I had my phone pointed at him.
He walked into the parking area and that’s when I looked around and realized I was alone on the beach except for some people quite far away. I couldn’t go to the parking lot though because he went that way and I was alone so I walked down to the other people and told them I needed help. The man walked me to my car and I went to the police station which was close by.
Fun day ruined.
On another note though, I found an agate and aventurine!
scary stuff, glad it worked out well for you.
Good thinking with the phone, even if you weren’t actually making a call on it,(I don’t know if you were or weren’t) this was a time when that seemed to be enough.
Sorry that happened to you. Good for you to think fast. A good move like you did is to hold up you phone like your taking a pic, even if you’re not. It will often trigger the creep flee response.
Gross. I just looked through my pictures that I took before I noticed him and you can see the progression of him in the distance, watching me. Next picture he’s closer and carrying a small log, then even closer. All my pictures are ruined because they’ve got Mr. Pervy in them.
You might want to share those pics with the police. It’s likely this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this and you might help another person.
You did well under really awful circumstances. Thank you for following through and providing photos to the police. People like him tend to escalate in violent directions. The fact that he picked up a log and carried it toward you is particularly terrifying. I hope they nail him.
