doo dooo da doo doo
doot doo doo doo.
I always thought it was: phenomenon, do doo do do do
My little brother and I used to sing it like that…in fact, I don’t think I realized I was wrong until I found it online totally by accident a few years back…
Whoah, my apologies, FlimGeek - we may not be wrong after all.
No, it’s Mahamenah (Sri Lankan cricketer) do, doo, do, do, do.
Now I’ll be able to go to bed with visions of muppets dancing in my head. I appreciate that. Really.
Doo bee doo bee doooo . . .
Drink Bud Ice, but, watch out for the penguins.
Am I the only one who thought the OP was the line right after Brodie says “And with that…we cue the music”?
Dammit-all, now that song’s stuck in my head!!
On a slightly related topic, I caught a Sesame Street special on PBS the other day that had flashbacks from the last 25 years. Of course, Mahamenah was shown and I grinned myself silly. It’s been 20 years since I saw that last.
So, has anone here actually seen Sweden Heaven and Hell? Is it available on DVD?
Am I the only one who thinks this this link is incredibly funny?
After all, what’s funnier than a popular children’s song that was taken from a Swedish Porn movie?
Ooooooh. I can help. Sing along with me:
“It’s a small world after all…
It’s a small world after all…”
You’re quite welcome.
Whenever we drive east into Wisconsin, about half an hour into the drive I start singing “Menomonie, doo dooo da doo doo”…
In our house, the music started whenever we made banana bread.
wringing hands Mwahah my plan is working! Actually there was no evil plan, but it makes me happy that the song got stuck in people’s heads, hehe.
As for whether it’s “Phenomenon” and not “manah manah,” there was a sketch on the revived Muppet Show in the 90s with Sandra Bullock. She was playing a therapist to one of the muppets, and one of them said “phenomenon” and they started doing the whole bit like “manah manah.”
Hal Briston, I have no idea what you’re talking about. Brodie? As in, like, Mallrats?
Jenaroph, you have a banana bread song? It doesn’t happen to start with “Daaaaay-o!” does it?
:smack: No, no no, I wasn’t clear; in keeping with the theme of this thread, it goes:
Doo dooo da doo doo.
Doo doo-doo doo.
Doo dooo da doo doo, da doo doo, da doo doo, da doo doo doo doo doot doo dooo doo.
