The song is from a soft core movie? It went from a dirty documentary directly into my babysoft, tender ears? How did I manage to grow up unscarred?
Cake does a sweet version of this on some “Rock for the Kids” album that’s not to be missed!
Maybe it’s just me…but the song without the video just sucks.
If you watch the movie it’s originally from, I betcha you’d see some sucking on that too.

I seem to remember it from the Benny Hill show in the late 70’s, when the PBS station carried it. I didn’t remember it on the Muppet show, but after seeing the clip is does seem familiar.
It’s actually the theme song to the John Travolta vehicle Phenomenon.

The correct name is of course The National Anthem of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Last weekend, we were spring cleaning. My daughter was very reluctant to get scrubbing in the bathroom for some reason, and as a delaying tactic, she asked that she be allowed to go get her CD player. I cracked my bullwhip in the air and refused. “But Mo-om!” she wailed. “I wanna listen to some music!” So I stood in the doorway and sang the manamana song for the child while she scrubbed the toilet. Damn, it’s fun to annoy your kids. 
They did a real funny sequence on the British “The Office” with this song.
One guy started doing the “mah na mah na” and another would chime in with the do-doooo do-doo doo part.
Then the boss came out of his office to join in, and he kind of fucked the whole thing up and they all clammed up. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, this probably doesn’t sound as funny as it actually was.
Currently, it’s being used in a Diet Dr. Pepper commercial with an attractive young woman sucking lustily on a straw. Given the origins of the song, I find it appropriate. 
(or maybe that should be :o )
My older brother had a version of that song on an album (yes vinyl) in the 70’s by Hot Butter Four guys playing those huge synthesizers that looked like they had old fashioned telephone switchboards attached.
