Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight - it's time to rumble.

Lots of wild swinging from Manny.

Ugh… I’m feeling cheated. This truly looks like two guys past their prime. This has been a completely boring fight thus far.

Wow, people really hate Mayweather. Imagine getting booed in your home town against a foreigner.

I guess the home town factor isn’t that big, since probably only 20% of the audience is from Vegas if that. Still.

Round 6 has at least had some excitement.

4 and 6 were good from Pac.

From what I gather, 40% of boxing is headlocks, right? The ref doesn’t seem to mind.

LOL

They are probably more relaxed with the rules in a top level fight

Well, I’ve seen enough. Barring a KO, Mayweather is going to win. I have to say that this fight has been fairly boring.

Mayweather has it in the bag at this point. He just stands off, defends, and wins.

What a con. For all the hype, that was thoroughly underwhelming. There wasn’t a single big exchange all night. Floyd dancing and clinching, while Pac throwing wild punches. Neither looks like they just fought twelve rounds.

Mayweather is not know as an offensive fighter but in reality he is an incredibly accurate striker:

From Compubox, Mayweather has the best plus/minus rating of any active boxer with at least five fights. He ranks as the second most accurate puncher—landing 41 percent of his punches—and is also the second most difficult fighter to hit—opponents land just 17 percent of their punches on him.

Well Mayweather is a douche for making sure this fight took place 5 years too late. Age probably favored Mayweather’s style over Pacs.

My personal opinion is that he just wanted to fuck with Pac and the best way to do that was not to give him a chance to fight.

There needs to be a scoring change.

You shouldn’t be able to win by mostly clinching and throwing counter punches, thereby forcing the other guy to beat you by default. Yeah yeah, defensive genius and all that. It makes for a boring ass fight (which we just watched).

Aaaagghh!!!

and what if you are the second most accurate puncher that is currently boxing? wouldnt that make you both an offensive and defensive genius?

Mayweather’s arms and height gave him the advantage. Manny couldn’t get inside. Maybe five years ago he could have. But, he’s about past it.

oh well. Now we know.

Accuracy is overrated. The quality of those punches should count. Who cares if you’re landing 60% of your punches if your opponent is visibly unshaken by them?

ETA: I’m sorry, but I’m highly irked that a guy can win by dancing, clinching and throwing love taps all night.

I disagree. Mayweather has only been knocked down once (Zab Juddah) and many people consider that to be a slip. Mayweather, for example, has never stood for a standing 8 count. In other words, in 48 fights Mayweather has never been in serious trouble of loosing, not eve once.

Good Point. But they changed the rules several years ago and now a strong hook counts for more than a weak hook. It’s to judges discretion now. It used to be a hook or a strait was allways the same for the scorecard no matter how hard the punch. Mayweather still wins the vast majority of rounds in pretty much every fight.
