Many female superhero's basically wear stripper outfits. Who are the most scantily clad male heroes?

cough

Actually, until the relaunch, the metal colouring was…well, not clothes so much, but a bodily covering. He was enclosed in a shell of alien metal. I’m not sure about the original version, but it kept his powers in check, near the end.

As of the relaunch, he is now unclad, and only sort of corporeal, as he is an energy being.

See, this is why I don’t invite you to parties.

The Hulk has battled naked before on more than one occasion. His body takes a lot more punishment than his clothes can withstand. It happened once when he was fighting the ufoes, back in his pantheon days. He spent the rest of the scene pantless (the Leader said the experience gave him an inferiority complex).

Another occasion was during the Infinity Crusade, when his clothes got destroyed during re-entry. Fortunately for the Hulk (and the comics code), he found Sasquatch unconscious nearby, and made himself a loincloth out of his fur. Sasquatch woke up with a big triangular bald patch on his back

He should just go shopping with his cousin– It’d make things so much easier.

The Animated Universe version has been an energy being all along; his costume keeps him contained and gives him a human shape. The clothes make the man, I suppose.

Just curious, but which female character has the most implausibly scanty outfit? Think the White Queen or the Goblin Queen are probably hard to beat

Danse Macabre, Marvel villainess, is typically depicted naked, with a swirl of her ‘darkforce’ keeping the comic from exceeding T+. Of course, she actually WAS a stripper…

The picture’s from the Comic Code days, where they gave her the illusion of a white bodystocking.

She’s probably the scantiest I can think of from a mainstream publisher, off the top of my head.

In both of those I believe he’s still wearing the skin-tight flame proof suit Reed Richards created for him. When he flames off from that look, he typically still has it on.

Colossus rocks the gleaming-metallic-skin look and usually goes the bare-arms-and-bare-legs route; this doesn’t make him look especially naked when he’s powered up, but kinda does when he switches back to flesh-and-blood.

And both of us forgot to mention Blok

Thus insuring that he got no service.

Oh, dear. I owned that issue.

My poor, wasted youth.

I suspect that Shadow Lass sometimes goes around in only a cape, and that the rest of her costume is just a artful use of shadow.

Phantasmo. Seriously, what the heck is with that? A bunch of ribbons for a suit?

That perspective isn’t helping; see also Amazing Man, who usually looked slightly more clothed.

I dunno if anyone’s mentioned the Spectre yet, and I’m too lazy to read the thread to check.

You can’t tell it from that picture, but the thing that always struck me about the Spectre’s outfit was that often he basically wears socks, and doesn’t even bother to pull them up.

What about Laurel Kent. WTF does she wear under that cape?

I’m pretty sure just panties. I seem to recall that one issue–maybe when she got shot with the kryptonite bullet*–that made it clear she wasn’t going commando.

  • Anyone who mentions the Manhunters gets the axe.

Intergalactic Gladiator:

How fitting - the Master of the World wearing the Emperor’s New Clothes.

Skald the Rhymer:

I thought the Spectre was generally depicted as having a shirt-collar around his neck, implying that at least the whiteness of his torso is clothing rather than bare skin.
