Considering that I just got Civ IV yesterday and was glued to the computer for 7 straight hours last night, I strongly doubt that I’ll be able to pry myself away to play poker tonight. I’ll miss you guys, but I really have to consider the needs of the subjects of Imperial Pittsburgh first. :smiley:

Capn, Yeti is just foundering at sea like so much flotsam. His arse is ready to be boarded! (Don’t know, that doesn’t sound quite right). He’s dead in the water, a ship without a rudder, up the creek without a paddle (do pirates inhabit creeks??)

Anyway, it’d be a shame to not shiver his timbers, put him into Davy Jones’ locker, something like that.

Y’know in any other random set of say, 96 hours, I’d make the time to unleash broadside after broadside into Yeti’s matted carcass. However, you just don’t know the obessive/compulsive power that any Sid Meier game holds for me in the first few days (weeks) of a new release.

I might pry myself away for a few seconds to check in on you guys in AIM, but I know there’s no way I’ll play poker tonight.

And nobody tell Exploding Kitchen that I’m playing Civ instead of poker. Her copy of Civ4 doesn’t work :mad: :frowning:

Lest anyone be concerned, I’ve just contacted customer support at PT and nudged them about getting the game up. It should be there shortly.

Cap, I’m bitterly disappointed at this evidence of skewed priorities. I expected better from you. How about a little multitasking, eh?

In case anyone was waiting with bated breath to hear about my big tourney last Friday, but couldn’t be arsed to log into PP and find out for him or herself, let me say, I bit the big one. Lasted a whole three hands. It was like I heard the starting gun and forgot everything I ever knew about tournament play. Completely, utterly, and totally awful. I’ve only just stopped banging my head against the wall long enough to post the news.

Actually, I stopped this morning, and revived myself by winning at PP’s new blackjack tables. Won enough to splurge on a $50+5 NL tournament this afternoon, in which I came in 19th of 300 and made a $72 profit. So that should take care of my poker winning allotment for the day – I’ll be easy pickins for you guys tonight.

Pitt plays Louisville in football tonight, so I’ll be watching the game early on. My plan is to *bot it and come in late. In fact, I think I could only rise in the rankings if I kept that my permanent strategy.

I was thinking I might skip tonight, since I feel like I’ve just been sitting in and folding hand after hand for the last three weeks; but my luck seems to be turning. I played the 99-cent tournament last Saturday and at one point I went all-in before the flop and got four-of-a-kind. Finished 4 places out of the money.

Man, you’re doing pretty good! You are firmly in the middle of the pack, a couple of good finishes will move you right on up. I’m going backwards as fast as possible, but they haven’t sucked my spirit dry yet :slight_smile:
