Just picked up another $82.50 for 4th place in $10+1 NL at 7pm PDT. I got carried away with an AJo and went all-in and called by the chipleader who was holding a Q…the flop was Q66…and then he rivered a Queen for a full house. Looking back, I should have holded back some because the 3rd and 4th place chipleaders had less then 10K to my 29K…Dammit. :smack:

I’m in the .99c tourney - 249 players started. I’m somehow in 3rd, with 13 players left. I have no farking idea how I managed this so far.
Of course now I’ll botch it. But still…

Well, guys, we should have two new players joining us this week: John F and MindWanderer. Someone please explain how, when I am distracted and not paying attention I kick ass, but when I actually try I suck out?
I was actually in 1st place last night (the usual 99 cent’r) for 5 hands! After more than half the players tanked (saw you there asterion!!) This is while attempting to clean up a huge online mess made by the kid, e-mailing other places to fix problems, yelling at her directly (and subsequently grounding her). Serisouly. I was trying to get penguined. Dealt crappy cards? All in. Won. More than once.
Then we got down to the last two tables. I had been moving up and down from 1st - 5th more rapidly than a two bit hooker giving free play at the truck stop. The house had settled down - LilMiss was ensconced in her room quietly plotting vengeance for my audacity to actually look through the computer history. Now I’m paying attention to the game.
And I suck out. 20th place. Dammit.
Thanks for the welcome. I’ve not played live poker, except with friends and dollar bills instead of chips. I have played quite a bit online though.
I won $200 or so on PartyPoker one time when the server crashed with about 10% of the field left. The payouts were split among the survivors. I also made the final table on a tournament qualifier, but you only needed to make 40th or so to qualify. Of course I didn’t make it far in the tournament I qualified for.
I’ve made it fairly far other times on PP tournaments but only small amounts in the money other than my biggest win. Before real money online I played IRC poker and had some odd experiences but learned hold em on there.
Well, I still can’t win at poker, but I’m up $200 in the last couple days playing mostly blackjack. It’ll take a little while to get my money back out, but that’s going either right into the savings account or into credit card payments. Probably the savings account. (Was up $70 when I called it a night Tuesday night, managed to tack on another $130 last night.) So my luck has probably gone to pot for tonight.
I just got an email from PokerRoom saying that they have finally launched private tournaments. Problem is the buy-in is too steep for weekly play–minimium buy-in is $5+0.50. It might work if we wanted to have a monthly big game or something and actually wanted to use a client with a decent hand history.
And Lil’Miss still hasn’t learned how to cover her tracks on a computer?
I’m on the fence for playing tonight. I’ve got to be in here at work early tomorrow, so this Eastern Time guy might need to bail on you. Of course, if last week is any indication, I should just play and I’ll be free at 10:02.
