Oh go ahead BBBobbio. I’m sure we’d all find your pants catchin’ on fire to be amusin’. ![]()
Thanks to Computer Boy having a connector so I can put two CAT-5 cables together…
I CAN HAS INTERNET ACCESS!
Hit wrong key and posted too soon.
Stately Agony Aunt Manor is very nice. The previous tenant didn’t clean to my liking, so most of yesterday was spent cleaning. Helpful Household Hint: Old newspaper + vinegar = everything is clean, including the bathroom floor! I have everything put up that I can until I can get some more dinero for shelf and cabinet purchases. Also, I seem to be missing most of my dishes and some of my pots. Methinks Computer Boy didn’t find two of the boxes he was holding (one of which has my *coffeemaker *so I have to drink instant) but I’ve had enough box hauling for a while. I have two plates and two bowls and that’ll do me for a while.
Good afternoon my friends, lovely photos everyone, here are some of mine.
Now I must attend to the washer which is spewing water all over the garage.
It’s never a dull day in Wendy World!
All this talk of plants is cementing my resolve to visit my dad on vacation this year and get a spider plant from him. As well as any other potted plants he’s willing to foist off on me (a lot of them, if I let him). The One Window has a lovely sill that’s perfect for plants that like partial sun.
Well in that case, you should buy some Tupperware chic dining glasses!! ![]()
I’m only partly kidding. One of my dog trainers has an uncanny knack for dropping glasses so her sister gave her some of these because she can’t break them.
My garden grows very well! This is my first time gardening so I’m very pleased with how it’s all going.
This is my pot garden. My soil sucks in that spot (pH of 8) but I wanted a garden there so I went with pots. The beige ones have amaranthus caudutus (Love Lies Bleeding) and the red tendrils are now about 2 inches long. The big red pots have beets. One has red and the other has purple. The small red pots have strawberries. I’m just waiting for Iggy to dig up some more rocks for me so I can finish my border.
These mulch piles show the location of my lilac twigs, so Sweetie wont mow them (assuming he ever does mow the damn lawn).
This is my triangle hosta garden. It will be getting bigger as soon as Sweetie moves his damn wood pile off my damn garden spot. His father gave me some more hostas and some blue jade but I can’t plant them until he moves his crap. The two variegated were bought at Tractor Supply and all the others were transplanted from Sweetie’s father’s garden. I LOVE hostas (though not as much as the amaranthus caudatus.
I don’t have a current picture of my astilbe garden, which is on the other side of the walkway from the hosta garden. Two of the 4 are growing well and are ready for mulch. The third is still really small. The 4th is nonexistant. I added some more just recently though so I’m waiting to see how they do before I mulch and call it done.
Down at the light post (in the first picture) is a tomato plant in a pot and two mums in the ground. The mums were also given to me by Sweetie’s parents. His mom bought them from his nephew’s school fundraiser last year and they went dead looking over the winter but his mom said they’d come back in no time and she was right.
My weeds are freshly mown in that picture so it looks like I have a nice lawn.
Yeah, but doesn’t your house now smell like salad? I guess tha isn’t so bad. Maybe you should polish your wood with a nice basil/garlic olive oil. ![]()
It would be, if I was wearing any.
Some of them have change counters. I don’t have that much anyway; about 2.50 in small change, and maybe 4 in quarters (which I need for laundry). I should be okay if I get the cash I have deposited. I get paid on Wednesday, so that’s okay.
I’ve been wondering that myself. I have been known to kill the unkillable spider plant. But I have a plant (no I don’t know what kind - it has a stalk, some stems, and a bunch of leaves) that we (the office) each got as a gift over ten years ago - possibly closer to 15 years ago - that is still thriving.
I am afraid to admit this in present company: my mother was the only person I knew that could kill a Wandering Jew.
We’re talking house plants, not anti-Semitism, FWIW.
TM freekin I!!!

Evenin’ Y’all! I’s exhausted. So is OYKW poor thing. He had closeout for May today and didn’t get out of irk until seven. He’s at his place ready to crash. I know the feelin’. UGH!
On top of dealin’ with a lyin’ sack of doggydoo today, I had a huge fight with McAfee just now. I reupped my antivirus. They charged my credit card but I could not download. I kept gettin’ a message to first order a product. After an hour of a combo phone and “live internet chat” “help” I told McAfee to stuff it, refund my credit card and in general where they could go, how to get there and the tourist attractions they should not miss. I now have Norton antivirus.
What a fun day. Hugs, yays, boos, woohoos, trouts, chitlins, noogies, wedgies, how you doin’s all around as needed.
Spaz glad Stately Agony Aunt Manor is to your likin’ and yay on havin’ teh intartoobz!
This is why I had the window open all day yesterday. This is also how I found two cave crickets inside plus one of the neighborhood cats. I have screens, they’re just not installed yet.
My sister can kill a spider plant. My dad was shocked–SHOCKED–that such a thing was possible.
I have sound on my computer now. I be incompetent when it comes to plugging things into the right port. :smack:
Now I’m incompetent at boiling water. I think my burner’s not set in place right. Me and electrical things today, I swear.
My housemate killed my spider plant… I went away for a month, it was fine when I left, when I came back it was dead. Short of watering it with boiling water or sulphuric acid, I still don’t know how that’s possible.
I should be going to bed, but the guys upstairs have friends round, and are being so loud I don’t think there’s much point trying to sleep. Seems half the city’s partying today, and I spend the day gettin’ on with the weedin’. I think I am now officially old and boring
Nice pics, all. (The crabapple picture made me sad, kinda. My crabapples finished blooming somewhere before mid-April this year, which is when they’re usually at their peak.)
I have all kinds of things blossoming: daylilies, snapdragons, first coneflowers, several kinds of coreopsis, nepeta, and others I’m forgetting. Yay!
Tired after first day back at work. Got lots done, but it was generally exhausting. Is it Firday, yet?
Off to bed.
Hugs all.
GT
Irked, watched the Kings win, eating. Overall a good day.
Spaz, Yay for stately digs and Iteret tubes!
I’ll take some of those chittlins Swampy
Just got woken up by a horribly vivid nightmare. Felt my cat walk across me (cats been gone months), heard my son scream out for his dad (fast asleep) and thunder booming everywhere (no thunder). Completely freaked out.

Blurf. That is all.
Oh, Moooooom, I am wearing pants this morning. Thought you’d want to know.
