Upon further reflection, I will disallow the 7 July event. It does not meet the “single killer” requirement. The shooter murdered 3 people, but then was killed by an armed citizen, not by himself.

I live in the region. The story keeps getting stranger all the time, in large part because it seems that nobody has come forward to say that they knew the suspect, or even his family.

When the suspect’s mother talks about him, she does so like he’s about 12 years old (he was 23), and will walk in the door any minute now. His father has a Ph.D. in physics, and has taught at a number of colleges and universities, and again, no apparent feedback from anyone.
