Hey Calgary* guys - it’s been too long since we’ve done this. We’ve got a whole bunch of new Dopers in the Calgary area (as well as all the old hands that we haven’t seen for a while) - I’d like to invite you all out for a social evening. The time - Saturday, May 1st, 7:00 pm. The place - Tipperary’s Pub at the corner of 16th. Avenue and 19th Street NW. If you’re new to Calgary or the boards (or both), come out and meet some nice, fairly normal people. :slight_smile:

*All Alberta Dopers are of course welcome, if you want to drive. Heck, ALL Dopers are welcome! Take a flight - come visit us!

Looks like his join date was just last January. Has there been a proper SDMB initiation yet? This might be a good opportunity.

Aw, I wish I could, but I already have a full day that day. Damn it! This is the second fun thing I’ve been asked to do May 1 and I can’t do it. Boo.

I’ll see if I’m up to it that night. :slight_smile: I have a number of things happening during the day but nothing that evening so I should be able to come, it’s more a matter of how tired out I’ll be!

Should work for us, subject to the vagaries of the social life of my 14yr old goddaughter, who would baby sit. Fortunately for us, she is very, very grounded and desperate for cash at the moment. :smiley: (grade 9 simply **requires **a certain minimum level of fashion style)

Hi all Calgary Dopers,

I am sad to say that my overseas business trip, originally slated for next week has been brought forward and I leave for Asia tomorrow.

So, sadly I will not be able to join you all on Saturday.

Perhaps there will be another meeting again soon and I will be in town for that one.

I was really looking forward to meeting all of you.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening - hoist a glass (or two) for me please. I will be there in spirit.
