Upon further reflection, I think we can all agree that Beck’s late-night texting was due entirely to Pancho (a.k.a. the evil kidney) taking charge for a brief while, and getting one last bit of shenanigans accomplished, before his impending eviction.
Coulda been the cats. Those Meezers have been mad at me since the Super Bowl party.
Pancho may be communing with the Meezers to plot evil that will cancel your surgery.
Time to have a “Mommy to cat” SERIOUS discussion about Mommy’s booboo, and the Big People Doctor who will fix the booboo.
Do not compare to a vet visit. They can’t process that.
Promise that while Mommy is gone for a very few days, not to worry, they will be fed, litter box changed, and dryer loads will be run.
And they must refuse all communications from anyone named Pancho. Pancho hates cats.
~VOW
And, how exactly, are we to determine the difference?
PPP
No shenanigans in the night at ol’Becks house
(Well there was that one thinh:D )
The cats have been thoroughly lectured on behaviour unbecoming a Siamese from royalty. They’re talking of moving to Canada.
Hey I didn’t tell them to move!!
Oh, Hell, they wouldn’t even make it past the front gate!
“Canada! We’re going to Canada!”
“I thought Canada was somebody’s name.”
“Idiot! It’s a place loaded with fishies!”
“Won’t we get wet?”
“Do I have to explain EVERYTHING? Canada is a place, with peoples, and they have so many fishies the peoples can’t eat them all! They NEED us to eat the extras!”
“Well, when you put it THAT way, okay.”
“Now shut up, I gotta think.”
“How long will it take to get there?”
“Shut up! You made me forget!”
“I’m hungry.”
“Me, too. And I miss the dryer.”
“Let’s go see if she forgot she already fed us breakfast. If we cry enough, sometimes she’ll feed us again.”
“Good idea. We can go to Canada tomorrow.”
“What’s a Canada?”
“Idiot!”
~VOW
Oh, VOW, you make laugh.
Aha! That’s how we’ll know (bolding and underline mine). You complain about things, here in your posts, but you never sound sorry for yourself.
We’ll watch. Hope it doesn’t happen again, though. Does not sound like a source of joy and enlightenment.
Beck’s post reminded me of the things I put my family through. Stress and pain meds is a powerful combination for altering moods and behavior. I don’t remember everything but my family reminds me now and then.
I remember the stress that almost overwhelmed me before my last surgery. I had planned to spend 10 days in a recuperative care unit. It’s similar to Rehab but more medical oriented. Ten days turned into 3 weeks because my incision got infected and I developed a stubborn UTI. I went home with a pic line on IV antibiotics. My incision limited my movement. I wasn’t even allowed to pull on the bed rail to turn in bed. I still had PT to walk & exercise as much as possible.
I do remember a vivid dream of a pile of leaves on fire. I used the only liquid available to put it out. My wife’s indignant yelp woke me up. I still haven’t lived that one down.
It’s hard being out of control. I had stubbornly delayed surgery for almost a year. I’d had surgery before but was unusually nervous for this one. There were many unsettling dreams before surgery. I constantly worried if my recovery would be 100%.
I can’t thank my doctors and physical therapists enough for getting me back to almost normal health. Outpatient therapy after surgery made a big difference.
Beck, it may seem like a big challenge ahead. The therapists will put you to work. But it’ll all be over by summer. You’ll be back home with the kitties and hubby. Ready for new adventures and blog posts.
Best wishes and I’ll be on the lookout for any unusual Beck posts.
Thank you for your story, Acey.
It gives me hope. (:))
Beck, I think you’ll do great in PT.
I bet your dance coaches pushed you a lot harder and longer than a therapist would.
I’ll be sending positive thoughts next week.
Can I rag on you this week? just kidding
VOW’s Canada Cats post cracked me up.
Beck - here’s a thought. Obviously you shouldn’t give out home location information to people you’ve met on the interwebs. But what if you gave the phone number of the local Sheriff’s office or Fire Squad to the Mods?
That way, if somebody sees and reports a concern, the mods will know how to get help to you.
As usual, my thread devolves into a cat thread.
I have been having nightly discussions with the 2 fiends from old Siam.
Tonight I read them a coupla of old straightdope threads I found about someone getting and naming new kittens. They listen with attention spans of a 10yo boys. Til I got to a post by ~VOW. They were very interested. I think they like her written cadence.
My Mid-daughter will be here seeing to the pets while I’m in hospital and the recuperation place. I’m so happy about that. She knows their ins and outs. That eases my mind, a bunch.
All I gotta do is get through this week. Crossed fingers.
You’ll know it when you read it.
TC, that’s a good idea.
I have folks here, 24/7.
My main concern here on the Dope is that I may hurt or scare someone or less that I may embarrass myself:eek:
I’m the queen of TMI. Nobody needs to know every gory detail, though.
dropzone called the right people last year that got a series of events in motion that saved my life. Really, it was almost serendipitous how it all came together. I could never expect that to happen again.
I’m really glad it did. We’ve put alot of devices in place to protect me. Unfortunately it did not stop me from texting and scaring the bejeebus out of everyone in my contacts.
My dogs groomer texted me today to ask if I was keeping my dogs appointment this week.:smack: I’m mortified.
Again thanks for your concern.
Just one more week.
Ask a Mod to change your name to BeckdaWhack, maybe?
New game coming to carnivals soon: Whack-a-Beck!
Note to Beck: maybe read my Journal to the Meezers to settle them down.
~VOW
~VOW, they certainly like hearing your words read. They purr and canoodle everytime I read it aloud to them.
You’re gonna have to start a few more threads, soon, btw.
They especially like the ‘deer mice’ thread. Bear laughed at using cat poop as a deterrent. He thought cat pee would work better.
(:))
No overnight hyjinx. Didn’t sleep all that well. We’re on the way to the clinic.
This is my last IV before surgery. Didn’t think I’d ever get here.
The Siameezers were very sweet this morning.
Ok, who abducted my cats and replaced them with these nice cats!!
