Anybody else going to a protest today and/or on strike?
As most of my work is at home where nobody sees me, about the only effective thing I can do about striking is to not buy anything today; but I am shortly going to head out to a protest.
I took a vacation day (highly unusual), and hung around the house. Doubt it did any good, but it didn’t hurt.
We listened to speeches and then marched around several blocks waving signs and chanting; herded carefully by quite a few marshals along what must have been a route approved by the city, as while most of the time we were on sidewalks or bike lanes some of the time we were in the street.
No hecklers, and a number of various signs of approval. Downtown Geneva, NY seemed pretty quiet; but I don’t know how busy they usually are on a midday Friday.
News coverage of this day in general, while not nonexistent, seems to me to be somewhat scanty; but I haven’t checked a lot of sites.
