Mayo and hotdogs?!?!?!?

What’s wrong with it? Everyone I know is disgusted by the fact that I put mayo on my hotdogs. It tastes good! (According to me.) But others must enjoy it too as I am able to find it at many hotdog vendors on the street downtown. I wonder what the percentage of people who eat hotdogs and like mayo on them is? I’m guessing like 15% - 20%? Anyone who hasn’t tried it, don’t be so quick to dismiss! Go out there and grab a delicious street vendor dog and pile it on. The flavor just might surprise you! This thread is for the minority out there, the mayo-nites! Go forth and spread the love!

It depends on what else is on it of course, but I like mayo on hot dogs. Chili? Saurkraut? No mayo. (Oh, and no chili and saurkraut together, either.)

But if you have a really good dog, it’s just fine plain on a bun.

Mmmmmm, mayo on my hot dog . . .

Mayo on hot dogs is good. Mayo on fries is better.

I’m not a freak.

I love mayo. I eat it on almost sandwich related food item that I can, much to my one friends disgust…

mayo, mustard, onions and cheeeeeeeeese on my hotdogs!

Mmmmmm, tartar sauce on my fries . . .

Mayo, mustard, onions, cheese and ketchup on my hotdogs. Hah

Oh, yeah! Mayo on hot dog GOOD.

I’ll take your word for it. I’m a hot dog purist. Mustard, kraut, chili, cheese, onions (especially onions in that red sauce from Sabrett hot dog carts), even relish… but ketchup on hot dogs grosses me out, and I can’t even conceive of mayo on them.

Ever go to Chicago? Up there they put tomatoes, relish, and a whole pickle spear on their hot dogs! I wasn’t prepared for that, either.

Well, vegi dog. I don’t want to misrepresent myself.

I’m sure there’s something somewhere on which I would not like mayo. . .

But I can’t for the life of me imagine what.

You know what’s funny, some of the vendors downtown don’t carry mayo because they’re afraid it will go bad during the day and they will get someone sick. Granted it’s good to see that the vendors are looking out for citizens, but I’ve never, ever been sick from bad Mayo from a street vendor. I would assume it would take a long time in the sun for the mayo to go bad, or would it?

Behold this creature that walks like a man. It wants mayonnaise on its hotdog.

Just kidding, I love mayo on hotdogs. I’m used to being thought a freak, though, on those and other grounds.

I like mayo on my hotdog…with chili and sourkraut. I prefer ranch dressing on everything (hot dogs, french fries, pizza, veggies, ect.)

Me 14!!! I like mayo, relish (not the sweet kind the dill kind) and mustard on mine.

Good sausage: Mustard, sauerkraut, chopped onion, relish

Good hot dog: Mayo, mustard, relish, ketchup, chopped onion

Mayo on the dog is a wonderful thing.

It’s suprisingly good when coupled with BBQ sauce.

Other good combo - kraut, onion, mustard and hot sauce.

Now I want a dog, dammit!

Oh thank goodness I’m not the only one! I’ve eaten my hotdogs with mayo and ketchup since I was little but when Patrick saw me do it he looked at me like I was a two headed freak! He made me feel like I was making some great hot dog sin or something! Well this thread will show’em. Ha!

I knew I wasn’t that weird!

Viva la Mayonaise!

I’ll try virtually anything on a hot dog (except ketchup; you have to draw the line somewhere). I haven’t gotten around to trying mayonnaise yet, but I can’t imagine I wouldn’t like it.

My hot dogs are enhanced with a triumverate of taste: mayo, mustard, and ketchup. All of them together, or it ain’t worth eating. Cooked onion is good too.
