McCain not as forked as the McCain Forked thread, but still forked

The BBC Polltracker.

They take their data from Pollster.com.

Maybe with some Chili Peppers’ fans?
[sub]Sorry, that’s what comes to mind every time I hear him say that[/sub]

Well they have been a bit critical of her Troopergate behaviors but not undeservedly so. And it seems that other Alaskan papers have been critical as well. The fact of the matter is that this is the main paper of Alaska. And before Troopergate they seemed to be among her fans. This back from March for example.

That may be the single stupidest article I have ever read.

 Yet this is pollster’s take:

They are stretching to find an angle here.

Nate Silver now has Grandpa McCain and Caribou Barbie at 3.1% chance of winning. At this point, the Detroit Lions have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl.

I don’t think you can express the Lions chances of winning the Superbowl without using imaginary numbers.

And that 3.3% chance is pretty much entirely hanging on the possibility of some completely unexpected October Surprise. Every day that passes that we don’t see a Surprise, McCain’s chances get that much more remote.

It’s genius compared to this one. (Where the hell did you find that site, Leaper-that place makes FreeRepublic look like Democratic Underground!)

Thanks. That shows Obama 9 points up today.

It’s a bad sign, too, when a candidate like McCain has to keep saying in the news: “No, I CAN still win, really. Honest!” That sounds so pathetic, hehehe.

This seems a good place to mention this story about an artist creating a huge gravel-and-sand portrait of Obama on the a beach in Spain. No one is doing anything like this for McCain.

Well, no, but in all fairness, some farmer plowed Sarah Palin’s likeness into his field.

It’s pretty darn incredible, though, that the city of Barcelona has temporarily ceded use of the beachfront land for this project! I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

You had me right there.

That looks like some sort of sign to space aliens. I’ll bet the Obama portrait turns out to be much cooler.

That looks like a fertile field.

Moby posted these pictures on his MySpace blog, but since you have to be a Friend to see them, here are the direct links. They’re pretty cool.

Ok, I read that article, and it did turn on my worry spout, I must admit (of course, being a Democrat, that spout is broken and leaks all the time anyway). What the hell are PUMAs? The Comments are full of people who say everyone they know is voting for M/P, including many Democrats. Are there really a lot of Democrats who are so upset with Obama that they’d vote Republican?

On the other hand, after reading elsewhere about all the big Republican names who have endorsed Obama, this line made me roll my eyes. Regarding all the Democrats who have come out in favor of M/C:

I assume that was written before Colin Powell endorsed Obama, or else he just didn’t want to mention it.

PUMA = Party Unity My Ass. They’re the mythical Clinton voters who won’t vote for Obama. The Palin pick was supposed to have woo’ed them, but Obama is getting 90+% of Democrats now, so…

Party Unity My Ass (PUMAs). These are women who’re so pissed at Obama getting the nomination, they feel the only proper retribution is to vote for someone who’d be more than happy to have the police meddling in their vaginas (and then no doubt charge them for the “priviledge”). Given that most women I know, love their vaginas, I can’t imagine that the PUMAs are in any way statistically significant.

There was 35,000 on hand in Indiana for an Obama rally this week. Indiana! Oh, and 100,000 in Denver.

Chris “Hardball” Matthews commented on the Obama rallies he’s attended. He said he’d never seen such racially mixed and upbeat crowds. And not ‘high school lunchroom’ racially mixed where everybody sits at their seperate tables, but all mushed together mixed.

I gotta tell ya, I’m feeling like Michelle Obama-- I’ve never been so proud of us. I’m even proud of the West Virginian who, when called for a poll, said, “I’m voting for the nigger.”* If you had asked me 2 months ago-- hell, even two weeks ago-- if Obama was going to win, I’d have said, “A black guy named Hussein? HA!” But today, with eight days to go, I’m beginning to believe.

*I’ve read this story on several blogs but always in a FOF kind of way. I wonder if it’s true.

McCain will be holding a rally at my son’s high school today. In an arena that seat about 3000-5000 people. Compared to the sea of humanity I’ve seen at the open air events that Obama has been at, it does seem a trifle small.
