I came in late…just in time for viewer e-mails (blaming bad poll numbers on media bias), and then the commentators made snarky comments that pollsters are like weathermen: often wrong, but we keep coming back to them. Har har.
Two things happened today that might have an impact (miniscule, but still) on McCain.
One is that his campaign issued a statement calling for Senator Stevens to resign. He’s not the only Republican Senator saying this, but there are probably some Republicans still supporting Stevens, or waiting to see how the court appeals play out before they call for Stevens’ head.
The other thing is that it’s raining in Pennsylvania. McCain cancelled his outdoor events but Obama went ahead with his. McCain acts like he’s entitled to our votes – Obama knows he has to earn them.
The Republican National Committee’s websiteseems to be lacking in something…can’t quite put my finger on it.
Well, he is 72 years old. He really shouldn’t be out in that weather.
I heard someone - might have been Rush; I’m not sure - say the other day that polls are to sway opinion, not reflect it.
Doesn’t representing this crap as an official government communication clearly cross the line into outright criminal fraud?

Long lines at Georgia polls again today. The polling place to which I was assigned had approximately 500 people in line at 4:00 p.m., and the prevailing sentiment among voters is that they don’t care how long they have to wait. (Lines are moving more quickly today, though. One lady told me she was able to get through the line in about 2 hours earlier in the day.)
From LA Times/Bloomberg, among likely voters:
Ohio: Obama 49, McCain 40
Florida: Obama 50, McCain 43
Dates conducted: Oct. 25-27. Error margin: 4 points.

Like to see that 50. More of those, please. Undecideds can do whatever they want if that 50 is there.
Almost certainly. But you can’t prosecute if you don’t know who did it. Sure, sure, “the Republicans”, but you need to be a little more specific than that.
Now, if we had some eyewitnesses, or camera footage, I’d love to see whomever did this thrown into jail, but unfortunately, we don’t.
From one of the blurbs on CNN’s ticker:
For what it’s worth.
Yes, and it says so in the article:
It’s all Obama, all the time, now!
While driving my 12 year old to the Doctor yesterday, one of the right-wing-nuts on the radio was saying “Next week, you can kiss freedom goodbye. Next week, you can say goodbye to the Constitution and freedom of speech. Next week, our radio shows will be off the air…” etc.
My DD asked “Are these radio people nuts?”
Of course, I said “Yes!”
I diaried over at DailyKos about the GOP website’s lack of McCain back in August.
spoke-, thanks for the GA early voting updates. Keep 'em coming!
Not that I think newspaper endorsements mean a hill of beans, but I find this interesting, nonetheless. . . 26 Papers That Backed Bush in 2004 Move to Obama
This is what has me up at night, worried, worried, worried… voting blocking by the Reps.

I am now a bit uneasy about voting on Nov 4. The only reasons I am sticking with it that I live in IL and I have no clue how to vote early here.
