McDonald's McNugget Sauce

I haven’t had them in at least 20 years, but MAN, I used to put them away after basketball practice. Hot mustard, always.

Back when they had hot mustard, I did it like a Chinese restaurant. Pour the hot mustard on top of the sweat’n’sour or barbecue. Dunk for two layers of flavor.

I just got hot mustard no more than two weeks ago. Damn! I hope that wasn’t the last hot mustard chicken nugget I’ll ever enjoy. :frowning:

Of the choices offfered, I’d take the Hot Mustard. Unfortunately, it’s no longer offered, at least around here; it may be a regional thing.

Of the choices not offered: Habanero Ranch.

Well, who told you to do that? [Gibbs smack]

Honey mustard, but when I was a kid, I loved just pure honey.

I voted for the “Count me out” option, but back when I actually ate those things, I went with the hot mustard.

I tend to go in cycles where sometimes I’ll change what I prefer.

Lately it’s been catsup.

BBQ and Sweet & Sour are both common.

Originally, back before they were even called McNuggets (anyone else remember when they were called “Chicken & Chips”?) I’d get honey, but I believe they discontinued that when they added Buffalo and some of those others.

I’ve tried Buffalo with McNuggets but it just doesn’t work for me. It’s all I would get with the Chicken Strips, though.

I used Sweet Chilli when they first came out with it, but only during that time. Haven’t gone back to it.

I LOVE their Sweet and Sour sauce. I wish they bottled it because I would buy it. I don’t get Nuggets them as much as I used to but when i did I would dip the nuggets in it, my fries in it and even my burgers in the S&S sauce too. Many years ago I found one of those recipes that mimic fast food and actually tried making it but it wasn’t the same.

If I could vote for it twice I would it is that yummy. Team Sweet n’ Sour!

McDonald’s in the US dropped Hot Mustard, another reason for me to never move back.

That said, I eat at McDonald’s maybe once a year at the most and when I do it is usually breakfast, not lunch. There are much nicer places to have lunch.

That better not be true. Their hot mustard sauce is the only reason I ever go to McDonalds. I ask for it with everything, not just Chicken McNuggets. I love it on french fries, Chicken McGrill sandwiches and much more. If they don’t have it anymore, the whole chain worldwide is dead to me. I mean kaput, finished, doesn’t exist.

Why worldwide? They still have the mustard sauce here! Don’t punish the others for one division’s foolishness.

As a kid, I used to get BBQ and Sweet ‘n’ Sour. As an adult, I’ve ditched S&S in favour of Honey Mustard and/or Sweet Chili instead.

This sounds like a good place for me to complain yet again about how expensive Canadian McNuggets are. They’re almost triple the price of their U.S. counterparts, for no particular reason.

Simple spite.

I may go into a McDonalds in Europe just because I find their restrooms very convenient but I am not ordering anything. Stateside, my presence will never waltz through the Golden Arches again if their hot mustard sauce has been killed off like some kind of sacrificial lamb on a waning TV show.

I don’t like sauce, but mrAru likes the honey mustard. Our roomie snags all the hot chinese mustard, and that is what she likes.

Well, honey is the best lubricant, right?

Fair enough! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not pure honey or ranch but any of the others are good. My default is one of the BBQ or Buffalo sauces.
Love’s me some nuggets, but I haven’t eaten fast (burger joint) food in a couple years…

The hot mustard is passable…

Nothing was better than popeye’s hot cajun sauce(discontinued) until Dominoes sweet habenaro.

They were 15 years in between but I think they might be the same sauce. :dubious:

A fairly small town in Northwest Arkansas. It’s franchise owned–that might be the difference. Franchises have a little leeway in offering things if the local people want it.

Though I now notice it has been a year or two since I’ve seen them. How long has it been gone where you are?

I’ve usually seen both 20 and 40 marketed as dual or family packs. Since I can’t order them, I don’t pay that much attention to them, but last I checked, there was a two person meal that only got one box of nuggets. It came with two fries and two drinks.
