You know, the only thing from either of those threads I’m willing to comment on is:
Remove “sexual” and replace “board” with “world” and I think you’ll be closer to the right track. There are a damn lot of people out there who think the best way to deal with unpleasant or unpalatable desires is to repress the hell out of them. Doesn’t work for me, never has, says the guy with severe anger management issues. I’m fully in support of talking this kind of stuff out if that’s what helps. We personally are in no position to judge what helps vs. what someone is just getting off on, so I’d rather err toward helps.
That doesn’t excuse people who put those thoughts up in the most unpalatable way possible, granted. “Pump full of jizz”? Really? We are in fact all supposedly adults here, many of us partially educated.

Discussion of a topic is not the same as approval of that topic. What’s so hard about that?
I mean, I am all in favor of letting people who are pedophiles discuss their feelings and experiences regarding their pathology. I’m also all in favor of discussions of what the age of consent (for anything, be it sex, drinking, driving, contracts, whatever) should be, regardless of the motivations for that discussion. I’m also perfectly happy with the death penalty for anyone convicted of child molestation.
Maybe it’s that I have a (relatively socially acceptable) mental issue that occasionally makes me want to commit criminal acts – I have an anger management issue of a degree that required therapy for me NOT to break into screaming in almost any argument, or for that matter to avoid getting into a fistfight nearly every time I’ve been in anything but the most quiet, upscale bars. Hell, every time I pick up a piece of glassware I have to consciously stop the urge to throw it against a wall to watch it shatter. So I don’t think I’m “broken” or “wrong”, necessarily, but I certainly have feelings/impulses that would cause me to commit “wrong” actions. I don’t think it’s out of the question that sometime I might be able to say something to someone that might convince them that some therapy or mental discipline might be for the best, in terms of preventing “pedophilia” the mental thing from turning into “child molestation” the crime and horror.
But you are not arguing that going berserk and fighting in bars should be legal, or that children less than 5 years should be able to consent to fight with you.
I have in the past argued that there should be circumstances for the former, actually. I think that there should probably be a much more broad “fighting words” defense to simple assault charges. I think society would be better off in general if “boys would be boys” (no gender implied, but the cliche is what it is) was less concerned with simple hand-to-hand punch-ups. Am I now a monster?
I also think, in the latter case, that there’s a profound difference between arguing that five year olds should be able to consent and arguing that the age of consent is too high, and should be reduced by a systematic method. I mean, (and mods can tell me if this is considered violating the rules on “baiting” but I don’t think so) as far as I can tell every time Cesario brought up age-of-consent stuff, he made it clear somewhere in the thread that he’d be able to cope with it if no one in his age range was able to consent ever, he just thought that it was at least possible that some children might be able to and so it should be scientifically testable. And the subject of this thread, Claude, is taking fire for not suggesting any actions at all, just acknowledging a fantasy that most of the rest of us would find sick and deviant.
I agree, for the record, that both of them had a very skeevy vibe in the way they chose to express their respective feelings, but THAT should be the grounds for any disagreement. I also don’t think either of them should be banned, and at most the **Evil Captor **rule should be used to confine but not eliminate the skeeviness.
