Mea culpa

I would like to publicly withdraw the accusation I made that Captain Ed was an alternate identity.

I jumped to an inaccurate conclusion. I don’t endorse his views, but he’s making some fair points.

Captain Ed, I apologize for suggesting your bona was less than fides.

We have also cleared up the bravo zulu issue.

Anyway, I jumped to a conclusion that was untrue. Again, my apologies.

Cheers,
Rick

You know, I just have to say that not many people would take back what they said and apologize publicly for it. I salute you.

SanibelMan, it was a cheap apology.

Bricker says that the Captain made some fair points.

What are these fair points?

His fair points (summarized as best I could in the “Racist Scumbag” thread) were that:

  • More blacks commit violent crimes than whites
  • It is therefore a fair hypothesis that blacks are inherently more violent than whites

Thsi was met with cries of “racist!” and other cries of “Define your point!” The former is of no probative value; a classic ad hominem attack. The latter was disingenous; even though he didn’t come out and state point #2, it was obviously what he was inferring.

So to my way of thinking, it was incumbent upon respondents to answer, not dodge or call names.

However, I lost my stomach for continuing in defense of those propositions.

I hope this answers you.

Disingenuous my ass, he still has made no point. Which leads me to believe he’s more interested in annoying folks than discussing his views rationally, whatever they are.

Doesn’t matter. I’m done trying to deal with the chickenshit. He’s so yesterday’s news.

I’m not perky.

Classic ad hominem attack?
This is not an ad hominem attack. It’s an attack against stupidity.

The poor have always commited the majority of crimes. In every country. At all times.
Being black has nothing to do with it.

This is so fucking obvious, even I understand it.

It’s okay to be a moron, but some of you guys are abusing the privilege.
