I just started a character in Medievia (it’s a MUD, if you don’t know). I’m wondering if anyone else is playing it…class? Level?
How long did it take any of y’all to memorize the billion and a half useful commands?
Are you using a client? Which one? Good/bad features?
Anyone want to run with a 10th level cleric?
Sorry, I searched the board and couldn’t find anything else on this topic. It’s a huge MUD, so I figure there have to be folks in here who play it…and I didn’t think this was an IMHO, because I want to just sorta jaw about it, not get specific poll-like results.
Hama, post a link to download it. I am currently playing Everquest which is like a MUD but with some awesome graphics. I currently have 24th level Shadow Knight named Transya K’Shul (get it, Transexual…I slay me). A shadow knight is like a necromancer and a warrior combination. I love playing RPGS and it would be cool to have someone to play with.
I tried Medievia once, but its been awhile. Maybe I’ll try it again sometime, as I can’t remember why I got bored with it the first time. I’ve been playing LegendMud off and on for a bit over two years, and while I’ve played a few other muds that I’ve liked, nothing comes close to LegendMud.
As for clients, Gmud and Zmud are both good, but I still like Pueblo. It’s available at http://Chaco.com but sadly is not supported (which means its free, but if it won’t work for you, too bad).
My husband played on Med for a long time, don’t know if he still does. If so, I will ask him if I can give you his character name so he can look after you in the beginning, it really helps! His character is very high level (he was asked to be a god on Med, but it looked like a hassle).

A) I’m using RoAClient…working all right so far. Zmud has a VERY short trial period, and I need to make sure I’m going to play the game for a while before I make an actual investment.
B) In-game I’m “Everae”…just started last night, and I don’t know when or how often or how LONG I’ll be on, but if I am and anyone wants to run with a teeny tiny Cleric…
C) As far as the behind-the-scenes political BS goes, I have learned to ignore it as far as ANY MUD is concerned. There used to be a lot of political BS on a local board running MajorMud, and it really detracted from gameplay. If I find that my game experience is effected by any of the political stuff, I will see if there’s anything I can do about it…but for now, I’m happy enough to just enjoy the game for what it is. I also noticed that the MOST recent message on the Anti-Med site was from August…so it can’t possibly be all that bad.
