Meeting Caesar

Thanks to Johnny Bravo and Snowboarder Bo for the tip for the photo hosting site

So my SO got a new-used cat this weekend. An 8 year old orange tuxedo tabby tom (whew that’s a mouthful) she got from the Idaho Humane Society named Caesar.

Caesar is quite the attention/love suck, but is very selective about laps, and who he gives purrs to. The Vaderling is the first person he’s given a purr to as yet according to SO.
here he is

and again
and yet another pic
have you seen this pic yet?
how about this photo?
and then there is this photo

Kitty!!!

What an adorable floofy creamsicle boy. Here’s to many happy years with him.

Hail, Caesar!

What a cute boy! And has clearly already made it clear who is in charge.

“I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It’s not. Mine had me trained in two days.” – Bill Dana

Beautiful kitty! And good on you for adopting an 8yo.

He’s a darling, but I thought a tuxedo cat is black and white?

Or grey and white, I’m not sure if a tabby tuxedo is an actual thing or not but…eh, not a cat fancier

No, tuxedo is a coat description, not a breed. It’s like tortoiseshell or calico.

A cat breed would be Maine Coon or Siamese or Persian.

Caesar looks to be plain American Shorthair,

I’ve never heard of a gray tuxedo either.

As you said, a description of the coat. As I understand it, a tuxedo cat is one whose face (partially) throat, chest, belly, are white while the rest of the head, neck and body are some other color, usually grey or black. Legs can sometimes be white, or there can be “gloves” on the paws. I don’t have a cite, this is just as I understand it. I didn’t mean to imply that it was a breed when I said I wasn’t a cat fancier, just that I don’t really know all the descriptive terms used for how a cat looks. I have, however seen a cat described as “grey tuxedo”
