I must say, I’m somewhat underwhemed by MM9, though. I tried Galaxy Man first, and I blazed through the stage, with only 1 continue… and beat Galaxy Man on the first go. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I remembered them to be a LOT harder, and the stages a lot longer…
Galaxy Man is BY FAR the easiest level/Robot Master. It gets a lot harder. And wait til you get to the Wily stages.
Whoooooaa, Nelly. I just got back from a friend’s house who has MM2 on his Wii. I have not played it since it was new so I only very vaguely remembered it. I annihilated every stage and made it into pretty far into Wily 1 with only a couple deaths in well under an hour. I was actually pretty shocked at how much shorter and easier the stages were, and the robot masters were a joke. I think only 2 of them managed to kill me, and I don’t think any of them killed me more than once.
Galaxy Man - the easiest stage on MM9 - is harder and longer than anything in MM2, without question. Maybe you’re just better at video games now.

I have Concrete Man, and Tornado Man, but even if Spank Man isn’t officially on the roster he sure as hell is making his prescence felt!

Surprised you got Tornado Man so early - he was the hardest and most frustrating for me. I love how when you master those old games it’s like riding a bike, though. Once I beat Tornado once, I came back and blaaazed through it again later. Same with all the other stages. I bet I could beat the entire game on 5 or 6 lives now, and those deaths would be on the bosses, whom I never totally mastered like I did the stages.
I’m having more problems with the levels that have mid-bosses. I can’t get past Magma Man and Jewel Man’s mid-bosses. I’m wondering if I need a special weapon for them, because it hardly seems like I’m doing any damage at all!
For Magma Man . . . I never really got the hang of that dragon, either. Just keep plugging away at it and maybe someone else can give you some better tips. You can only hit him about 1-3 times per pass IIRC so it takes a lot of passes to put him down. Use an E-Tank if necessary.
The Jewel Man boss is easy if you have the bees from Hornet Man. Just smoke him with those. If not, see the tip I was given earlier in this thread: the last of the crumbs indicate the next spot he’ll be dropping down from.
If you’ve got it, Tornado Blow… err… blows away the dragon pretty easily.
True, and I almost said that but, IIRC, it’ll run out before he dies, and it’s the effective weapon on Magma Man.
And I’ve done it! Got Magma man, and Splash Woman, too. Splash woman wasn’t too hard, I could have done it with just the mega buster, I think.
