I don’t know if this is legit or photoshopped. I’m not familar with the magazine or it’s ethics. But if this is true, this has to be a first for a “potential first lady.” I’m surprised the press has not picked up on this.

As far as I know, the picture is genuine.

I don’t think it’s any secret Melania Trump was a professional model, so I don’t see why anyone would care about this.
I no longer think it’s hitting below the belt, since she spoke from the podium at the convention and is therefore no longer just a “spouse of”. But this is a damn silly thing to be concerned about.
Only people who are blissfully unaware of Trump’s existence can be surprised by this. She was picked as a wife because she was a beautiful model. Is it news that a model modeled?
This is like the faux outrage when pictures of then Senator Scott Brown surfaced.
And pretty soon we’ll have a first lady or candidate in her own right with a tramp stamp, just because statistically so many young women today have them.
Just like the way outrage over divorce vanished instantly when Reagan was a candidate, outrage over a trophy wife posing showing skin will vanish instantly.
Until it happens to a Democrat. Like Michelle Obama’s toned arms.
If you search for nudes under her maiden name, you find at least one shoot of nude photos said to be her. Not sure those are genuine.
That said, no matter how daring the photos were, they were legal and made when she was young. They should not have any bearing on whether one wants to vote for her husband.
(Offhand I can think of fifty better reasons for voting against Trump.)

I don’t care that Ms. Trump posed nude, but as noted above when the same people who accused Michelle Obama of not being classy enough to be First Lady because she bared her arms come out and call Melania Trump classy despite the fact that she bared everything, I reserve the right to PALATRs*.

As long as this doesn’t lead to the publication of nude pictures of Bill Clinton I don’t have a problem with it.

In an ideal world this would be true. But in the real world of politics there are people who are going to judge Ms Trump negatively for having been a nude model. And there are going to be people who will judge her negatively for having an accent. And these people are part of the base that Trump is seeking to build.
In theory, I agree with you.
In practice, the people who support Trump will discard these considerations along with all of the other logical, economic, moral, and political considerations they have already tossed aside.
Look at Melania’s face, the porch light is on but there’s nobody home. Michelle looks better with her clorthes on than Ms Trump looks half-nekkid. And that’s half-nekkid with profesional lighting and photography.

Melania was a fashion model; take a look through the pages of Vogue, and you’ll see just how common it is for shoots to have models who wear very little, and occasionally have an exposed breast or buttock. It’s not difficult at all to find similar pictures of nearly any other noteworthy high-fashion model.
Plus, she’s European, where they don’t typically get nearly as bent out of shape about nudity as many Americans can get.
The irony, of course, is that her husband is the Republican nominee. One can imagine the condemnations that would come down from many of Trump’s supporters if the wife of a Democratic nominee had posed for such pictures.
I know what you’re saying. I’m not even sure how to fully explain it… but that photo shoot is the least sexy thing I’ve seen in a long time. I almost feel like I’m outside myself watching the mating rituals of another species. It’s like the uncanny valley effect.
Yeah I do, because the republicans paint themselves as the pro-family, pro “christian morality party” so it’s extremely hypocritical of them to ignore her semi-naked modelling and the fact that Trump has divorced two times previously.
If it was a Democrat wife they’d be attacking her as some kind of immoral trollop. You know this is true. The hypocrisy stinks, and everyone knows it.
