I am still a Charter Member, and damn proud of it. I have paid my dues (figuratively and monetarily) since the inception of the pay board. Without any break. I haven’t posted in quite a while, but I was still under the assumption that the agreement we signed way back when was still in force and honored.

Ever since the upgrade, a number of Charters lost that designation. Jerry fixed it recently but a few were missed in the process. Email a mod and they’ll pass it on for repair.

When a user purchases a subscription and keeps it up-to-date, his user information (what we see, not what’s in your profile) shows the beginning date of your original subscription and the ending date of the latest one. A Charter Member whose dues are current, for example, would have a beginning date in 2004, and an ending date in 2009 or later–depending on how far one bought ahead.
Your subscription is showing these dates:
05-18-2008 to 05-28-2009
It looks like you missed the renewal date last year, and by the time you re-upped, you were at a Member status.
IMO, any mod or admin who’s incapable of putting aside personal issues and dealing with a situation fairly and impartially has no business being in that position. FWIW, tuba actually seems to be generally pretty good about that.

No no NO! I NEVER missed a re-up! Not that it’s any concern to anyone, but this is a long time member about to quit for good and spread bad rumors about y’all! I DID NOT miss the date. I am up to date.

I remember subscriptions being extended several times due to lengthy outages.
I have an expiry date of May 20 this year, if if6was9 renewed on the 18th last year, wouldn’t it be in time?
It depends on when the extension happened. An extension could have been granted after the re-up date appeared and passed. So, let’s say the re-up date was 5/17/08. On 5/18/08, he re-upped, but had missed the window. Two months later Jerry extends subscriptions by 3 days, so now the next year’s re-up is 5/20/09. That wouldn’t change the previous re-up date, meaning he still missed out.
I’m not saying that’s what happened, but it’s an explanation for why your next re-up date and his do not match.
Take a deep breath, if6was9. So far all I’ve done is let you know what the software is showing me. Do you still have the receipt for the payment you made? If so, go ahead and shoot me a copy; we can pass this all on to Jerry and have him take a look at it.

It’s obviously worth more than I’ll ever understand, but even if there was one lapsed pay period, if6was9 deserves it for the passion displayed of wanting to be a “Charter Member”! (If I could only muster up the same passion… And here I aspire to be a lowly “Member”. I’m so ashamed.)
