Men, do you enjoy shaving?

I recently swung one extreme to the other. After having a ponytail down my back and a ZZ Top goatee, I decided to shave my dome smooth.

I LOVE shaving my head, sometimes doing it twice a day. Smooth…

But I’ve regrown my goatee. It was either that, or shave every hair on my body.

That’s how I shave. It’s the last task I do in the shower, I let the hot water do it’s work on my face by loosening up the skin making it a smoother shave.

I still have to spot shave once I’m out of the shower for side burns, and that spot on my chin I always seem to miss. I had a shower mirror but that piece of crap fell apart as soons as I tried to set it up.

I have a small mirror that supposed to be fog resistant (but after ~12 years, it isn’t). But the main thing is that in ~3 decades I’ve been shaving, my face hasn’t changed all that much that I need to really watch what I’m doing. As long as I don’t notice any pimples when I lather it, I’m good to go.

Describes me to a T. (I voted “Don’t mind it” in the poll).

And I still don’t know how I figured this out, but for years I have used the Gillette Fusion razors, and as long as I’m in the shower and let the hot water do it’s work (like Ibanez describes), I don’t even need to use soap / shaving cream, etc. I can’t remember the last time I bought a can of shaving cream.

I don’t mind. I recently have regrown my goatee, and it makes shaving go quicker without having to worry about my chin.

I hate shaving but hate beards even more.

Ahoy – tell your wife, to try a chic intuition razor, I used to flay myself to ribbons & now I haven’t cut myself for years.

I don’t care for shaving. I let my facial hair grow in the winter, with occasional trimming. In the summer, I shave everything but my mustache, but let the stubble grow for a few days before shaving again.

I shave in the shower. I shave every weekday morning, and often at least one day on the weekends, too. I don’t have strong feelings about shaving. I don’t hate it, but I don’t think it’s a little spa vacation either.

As to the mirror problem, here’s what I do. I have a mirror that sticks to the wall of the shower with suction cups. I don’t know what it’s made of – not glass, anyway. Before shaving (which is the last thing I do in the shower), I splash some water on it, which takes off the fog. Then I rub a tiny bit of soap on it, which keeps the fog off, at least for long enough for me to shave.

I don’t use anything fancy. Barbasol shaving cream and a Gillette Mach 3 razor. I shave against the grain – mostly upstrokes, except for a couple of spots where the hair seems to go in a different direction. I know the layout of my face pretty well, which isn’t surprising, since I’ve been shaving for nearly forty years now.

Shaving in the shower is definitely faster than shaving at the sink after the shower, and seems to yield a closer shave, too.

I tolerate it. The worst part for me is my chin. I have one large and four or five small scars from playing hockey. I usually have to choose between a close shave or not bleeding.

I hate shaving even though i have next to no beard and get by shaving once a week.

It’s been a lot more fun since I went back to brush-and-bowl.

Likewise. Otherwise, no shaving. My beard doesn’t get too unruly, but when it starts to brush on my lips, it all comes off and the cycle starts again.

Depends on the amount of time i have really. If i have alot of time its pretty relaxing. But if i’m in a rush then it gets pretty nasty to say the least

I hate shaving, mainly because I’ll have a 5 o’clock shadow as soon as I get through shaving.

Like others have said, keeping a beard well groomed is a bigger pain. Especially with me, since my facial hair grows in every direction known to man, and I swear some of them use wormholes to go past the three dimensional barrier.

I don’t mind it much. As some others have responded, I too shave in the shower. It doesn’t take very long and is not that inconvenient. In truth, the biggest problem I have associated with shaving is remembering to…I only have to shave once a week or so.

I chose the second option, only because there was no choice between that and the first. A million suns would overstate it. Maybe a thousand?

Another point-why is facial hair so stiff (my beard is like steel wires)? It really is uncomfortable for me to have a beard.
But I like shaving, so no problem.
