Same here. I’ve never really thought of it this way before. Either I like the way a woman looks or I don’t (or just don’t care one way or the other). I still have fond memories (probably blown out of proportion by now) of a girl I saw at a Pantera concert waaay back when. She had long blue hair on one side, was shaved on the other and a chain from her ear to her nose, but, damn, she was beautiful.
I like it but it totally depends on the cut. I’m not a huge fan of the “Mommy cut” that Anaamika alluded to above but a cute face with a cool cut and glasses…wow…that will definitely make me look twice.
I think short hair on women is very sexy!!! But not on all women. In general I prefer short-haired women, but not exclusively. My SO has shoulder length hair and I can’t see her with a crew cut. Just doesn’t work for everybody.
I much prefer long hair. But if the woman is petite, short hair can be sexy.
Oddly, some women beleive that short hair makes them look lighter, but it doesn’t at all, in fact just the opposite.

Agree totally. I’m a girl who decided to go very short a few months ago and I’ve had loads of compliments about it. BUT I make sure I get a very good (and very expensive) cut at a top London salon, so it looks groovy rather than dowdy. It actually takes a lot of work (regular cuts, daily styling, loads of product), but it’s worth it. I work in the design profession so it suits what I do - I think my clients would be disappointed if I turned up in the usual long straight blond highlighted number.
I like long hair on a woman. Shoulder length or longer. Some women can pull off short hair, but only a few.
Yes! A cute short haircut will definitely catch my eye. I often wish more women wore their hair short.

Short like a pixie cut or like a bob?
I like very short hair like a pixie cut or a boy-ish cut, however, i’ve found that girls who have that style of hair tend to be a bit …dramatic. Also, it only really looks good on women who have a slight build and delicate features. One of our friends kind of “bulked up” after college and with her pixie cut she looked like a cross between Susan Powter and an angry lesbien (which might be redundent).
A woman with a shaved head looks stupid (Think Sigorney Weaver in Aliens3 or Demi Moore in GI Jane).
Short hair (less than shoulder length), IMHO, looks plain, sensible and boring.
I’m less interested in the haircut than the person inside.

Gotta disagree with the Sigorney Weaver part. I think the idea was to make her look masculine and sexy at the same time. I loved it and think it took guts on her part to go along with it.

Generally speaking, no. I like long hair on women much better.
On the other hand, my wife looks good with her shorter hair, and since it’s her hair I don’t tell her how to cut it. In return, she doesn’t tell me to cut off my beard.

This is pretty much my opinion too. However, in this as in everything else, my tastes vary according to the person I’m attracted to at the moment. If I see a sexy woman with long hair, I’ll think “Long hair is so hot!” and if I see a sexy woman with short hair, I’ll think “Short hair is so hot!”, and so on, with basically every physical feature.
I think short (boy-short) hair looks best on slender women with small noses and tall-oval heads. Also better if the hair is straight and not curly.
I also like hair that’s shorter than average but not too short. When I first met my current girlfriend she had what I describe as a Dora the Explorer haircut. . Since she’s Filipino, Chinese and Portugese, with light brown skin, and has the same kind of wide head, this caused her to bear an uncanny resemblance to Dora. A 20 year old version of her, anyway. I found the overall effect of it to be extremely exotic and attractive. But I don’t think a boyish haircut would have looked good on her.
Well, sure. I don’t think anyone in this thread is suggesting otherwise about themself. But in my case at least, part of what makes me want to get to know the person inside in the first place is appearance. And hairstyle is a huge part of that.

Not on women of any age. When my old mother gets her hair cut she looks like an old man. My siblings tell her she looks nice, but I tell her I hope it grows back soon.
We had two hot twin women where I work. One cut her hair and the difference was depressing. When asked why, she said she had gotten married and didn’t need to have it long any more. I felt sorry for her husband. If only he had known what was to come.
