This promises to be a good one. The snow has just started, almost as if on cue, which I’m watching with a festive eggnog in my hand, well and truly spiked. It’s already a white Christmas and it’s not going to be fooling around; there is an overnight snowfall warning in effect, providing a festive whiteness and soft landings for Santa.

Cheers to all. We had sleet and then snow today, which makes it the first white Christmas (eve) since we move here. It will likely be gone by tomorrow morning, but it was lovely. I’ve been reflecting more on my family and my life than usual, probably because I’m getting to an age where the number of Christmases left to me is dwindling rapidly. I try not to be maudlin, but sometimes it just sweeps over me.
Anyway, my wife made a traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinner of mushroom soup and pierogies. Tomorrow’s breakfast will be kielbasa and eggs, accompanied by a baba made with walnuts and cinnamon.
Have a great time, all, and hopefully next year will be better for you than this one was.
