Me too. Today I tried accessing the board with Netscape. When I tried to search, it waited for 5 minutes, then I got a dialog box saying “Document contains no data.”
But where were the Spiders?
I got a successful search the other day, but it took twenty-four minutes.
When I realized it was so slow, I opened another window and read some other threads.

I’m afraid the search function has experienced some sort of relapse. It was actually working for a while there, and now works far better than it did, but it’s now hitting potholes that it didn’t in the past. I’ve run a couple of searches, on all open forums, where I watched and it bagged a few hits in this forum, a few more in that (searches that I knew shold produce something), but produced zero results at the end.
Another problem to be investigated and fixed, obviously.
I’ll alert the appropriate folks.
Since the message board search engine is an integral part of the UBB software, it’s really a UBB problem, probably related to the recent software upgrade. I’ll see what I can find out about that as well.
Sorry for your inconvenience.

I had a similar experience on a broad search. I ran one against all forums. It ran a while so I busied myself with other things. When I checked again, I had no hits. I had wanted to return to a specific post, so I hit the browser’s “back” button a few times. As I passed each of the intermediate screens recording the hits for each forum, I saw non-zero tallies. I went back through again and noted which fora had hits, searched each of those fora separately, and found what I was looking for. (It took a long time.)

Why does the link “comment on this answer” at the end of CA column take me to boards.sd.com? Where do I go from there if I want to comment of one of his columns?
