I can’t say it better than it’s already been said. I, too, have always considered you one of the posters I’m most interested in reading.
Take care.

Oh dear. Sorry to hear it.
David,
It’s just, well… I want you to stick around.
I’m sorry to hear about your not-so-well health.
Not too sure what to say. Even when I’m upset.
Never am.
-Chris
Best wishes.
David,
May your days be filled with light. Be well our friend. You are loved.
Lisa
As my grandmother used to say, oh foot.
I hope things work out the way you’d like.
I’m sorry about your illness. I always liked your posts; you bring a unique perspective and we are better for it.
I’m so sorry, David. You are an outstanding individual, and I will miss you.
What can I say? You will be missed…
And, it’s never too late nor too often, thank you for your service!
You and all who love you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I ditto what twickster just said.
Sir, you’ve led a life to be admired. I read everything you write and will miss you deeply in your absence.
I wish for you a comfortable journey, on your own terms. Good luck, Mr. Simmons.
My thoughts are with you, Mr Simmons.
May whatever gods there be, be with you and your family. Sending supporting thoughts your way.
I went hunting for a picture of our friend Mr. Simmons, because I remembered him in our past pic threads. Unfortunately the picture links have been disabled.
Still
Don’t buy any green bananas!
You are credit to humankind and we are made better for the knowledge and experience you shared, sir.
Thank you, David.
I am sorry to hear this. I too always click on a thread when I see your name. That post, maybe your first one or one of the first, where you talked briefly about your military service, still lives in my mind. You will be in my thoughts.
My best wishes go to you, David. My 82-YO brother had bladder cancer three years ago but it was caught in time. Now he is incapacitated and homebound with a bad back.
David, perhaps you can make a list of things you’d like to do or see or tell folks for the rest of your life, i.e., a “bucket list”. You don’t actually have to do them all, but it can be fun or satisfying just to make the list.
Yesterday I saw the current movie with that title, starring those chock full o’ nuts Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, and I recommend it to everyone who has compassion for patients with that dreadful scourge. Take two hankies, though. It even had a scene of Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, my US Navy home port of 40 years ago, and of nearby Eze Village from the air. The ending was quite poignant, as well, but I digress.
Again, David, best wishes and thanks for all of your informative postings for the 3 years I’ve been on the board.
I wish you the best, David. Thank you for taking so much time through the years to share your thoughts with us. As others have said, I always read the David Simmons posts, and it’s always worthwhile.
Good luck to you, David. I always enjoyed your posts, and will keep you in my thoughts.
