Yes, and I wholeheartedly agree with Montfort. Cold Fire happens to be a Rush song…
You dislike Nobodys Hero? Yet you like the newer Metallica stuff? My Goodness. There is no way to save you now, you’re in too deep.

Coldfire(btw that song is ok)
But be honest do you like the old rush or new rush better? Hmmm? And remember be honest. And yes I hated Nobody hero and I went to take a leak when they played it and other people were in the john saying they hated that song too.
I suppose I like both old and new Rush. For different reasons, but at least this band evolved and remained of high quality.
Metallic sunk as low as to produce that godawful cover of that Classic Thinh Lizzy song.
You tell me which band is better…
Coldfire if you can pick me up on Ferrari then let me retort
Thin (and yea I know it was just a typo )
Whiskey in the Jar is a traditition Irish ballad btw . Look for the Dubliners version on Napster .
I’m not sure that asking for fair financial compensation for the music they have created is the same as telling fans to go to hell.
Look, I’m not trying to cop a law-and-order attitude here. I have dubbed friends’ tapes before. I just got a CD burner and I can envision myself taking advantage of Napster or Napster-like services. But I am a little irritated at Napster supporters getting on a moral high horse about this. It’s morally questionable, and maybe that’s still pretty cool.
I’ve seen an interview with J.Hetfield where he says that if the J.H. from ten years ago could meet himself now he’d most likely punch himself.
Old James would punch New James, or vice versa? Either way, I think that it’s safe to say that Old James would kick New James’s ass and drink New James’s beer from New Lars’s skull. (Beer good!)
I lost any hope that Metallica might once again rock with their cover of “Turn the Page”. It almost makes you hope that there’s no afterlife, so Cliff didn’t have to hear it.
Oh, and Billy–I can’t believe that we’re on the same thread arguing the finer points of Metallica. Not surprisingly, though, I still disagree with you.

**The reason I picked on rush is because I love them in highschool years but never got to see them then. So a few years ago they came to san antonio and didn’t one song off 2112 and they didn’t even play working man. **
You must’ve missed the Test for Echo tour, then.
Old James would punch new James .
They need radio airplay to sell records
Maybe now they do. There was nary a single nor video from their first three albums, and the only one from Justice was “One,” which was fine with me at the time, 'cause the song kicks arse. So they were one of the most popular metal bands of all time without any airplay whatsoever. Then they put out the Black Album, and ceased to be relevant to me. I tried to like it for a while, but ultimately, I couldn’t.
So. What Milo said.
(Next up: Whaddya mean Joey’s not in Anthrax any more?)

Yea, Iron maiden are purest from the metal era but do they make the bucks metallica does? I don’t think so.I think the whipped band is Rush. There music might sell but it sucks and doesn’t rock at all. At least metallica still rocks(not as hard but still they rock) **
Guess you didn’t know that Maiden sold out every venue they played in on the recent tour. They sold out Madison Square garden in under two hours on a Sunday morning. Yeah Metalica may sell out bigger places but how many people go just to say they went? Plus Maiden, at least in the Washington Baltimore area got little to no air play where I hear Metallica all the damn time.
Why has Rush been whipped? that makes no sence at all. and as for rocking guess you missed stuff like Animate and Driven plus others from the newer albums.

Grr. Why didn’t Maiden come to the Washington/Baltimore area on their latest tour? My singer and her husband roadtripped to Camden, NJ to see the show, but I couldn’t join them. Grr.
