Michael Flynn's Shining City on the Hill - For Christians Only

By that reading, then we must conclude, much to our surprise, that Michael Flynn is a secret Jew!

Because, if we’re using the logic in that . . . article, then Jews, Christians, and Moslems worship distinct ‘Gods’. And since “Judeo-Christian” ethos derive from the 10 Commandments, which even the most out there Christians recognize is Old Testament, then, in the immortal words of Rowan Atkinson:

“I’m afraid the Jews were right.”

So, @webwarrior, when are you planning on converting?

I’m not throwing anything around. I’m quoting General Flynn directly.
I know exactly what he is talking about and exactly what he means.

So you know exactly what he is talking about. You are him? You may wish to update your profile.

So?

Yeah, so do I. He means “Christians.”

If you mean white right wing Christians, why don’t you just say it?

Because it was obvious from context?

Exactly. Quoting from that site:

As far as I know, followers of Judaism don’t believe that God had a son, either.

(I’ve also read statements by Christians that Jews and Muslims do not worship the Christian God, since the Christian God consists of the Trinity, which the other two faiths do not recognize.)

Again, then, “Judeo-Christian” is not “one religion.”

Indeed. It refers to cultural/philosophical commonalities in the Western Tradition but most definitely not to “one religion”(*). And what Flynn said at the Texas ReAwaken America event was “one religion”, not “one god”.

(*At its most benign, you can mean “those ethical/philosophical values in Western Civ that both Jews and Christians can agree on”… and it still leaves some serious gaps to fill.)

There is no such religion. IF there is, could you please tell us what sect most closely represents it?

Are you actually using “Amazing Discoveries” as a cite??
What a maroon.

What was obvious? Your bias or your agenda? Or both?

I’d be embarrassed to admit I didn’t know it, if I didn’t.

I’m sure that makes perfect sense in your head.
More’s the pity.

You realize that:

  1. You still haven’t even provided any evidence for your own argument about what MF thinks, despite repeated requests, other than ‘you know what he thinks’. Again, unless you are the person in question (or some sort of tiny person that pilots a Michael Flynn suit), that’s self-evidently false.

  2. You have made assertations about who is and who is not ‘God’ which fall apart under the most basic rational, Biblical, and scholarly arguments, yet move onto non-sensical one liners rather than try to provide a reasoned argument.

  3. Your own sources are REPLETE with bias, yet you dismiss other sources, which are at least verifiable, non-opinion pieces as ‘False news’. Which, let’s be honest, is pretty much proof positive of your own bias and agenda.

Right now, you’re making whatever you consider your ‘own side’ is to look like sophomoric loons, to be pitied as incapable of the most basic debate skills, and verging on Trollish due to your inability or unwillingness to support your own assertations of ‘fact’.

I don’t know what you think you’re doing in this thread, or this board, but winning hearts and minds certainly isn’t in the cards with this degree of skill.

I read a very sad article once about a Protestant woman in Northern Ireland who was a shining star in the movement to integrate Catholics and Protestants on the entirely worthy principle that if they were physically integrated rather than being separated into their own enclaves, they would be forced to see one another’s humanity and prejudice would be broken down. This woman was a chief organiser of committees and lobbying efforts in this respect.

Then it was suggested that a Catholic family move into her own block of flats (apartments). After making excuse after excuse about why they shouldn’t move in, she was finally cornered and could think of no more excuses, broke down and said in public there was “no way she was having any dirty Catholics in her building”.

The United States was a nation built on beautiful ideals. What’s happening now is that a certain body of white Christians - who have been pretending to agree with those ideals for centuries - have got cornered and are having to admit what they really thought all along.

That he’s a smelly sack of shit that even the flies complain about?

Well, perhaps you are personally familiar at that.

As to webwarrior, he’s just another blow-in who hasn’t yet figured out that this place works on a bedrock of well cited facts and logic. He will probably shortly either leave quietly, or flame out spectacularly when the cognitive dissonance gets too much.

Well, I don’t know about that

There is a lot of soft stuff above the bedrock. But facts and logic are key values.

I do love the Harry-Potteresque logic of assuming that just uttering the word “CNN!” magically converts facts into non-facts and your incoherent argument into unassailable reason.
