I normally don’t watch this stuff, because it creeps me out, but my sister pretty much made me (she’s addicted to 60 Minutes). I was shuddering during pretty much the entire interview.
Does he seriously think anyone believes him at this point? Or does he even care?
I’m surprised there hasn’t been statements from MJ’s camp about how “60 Minutes twisted what was really sad during the interview” etc. etc. I was talking about that with my uncle (Starving Artist) and we agreed that there wasn’t much to do a hatchet job on. MJ took care of that for them.
I’m just not buying it. When I was at Disneyworld in May Scottie Pippin was in the damn fast food line with me and he wasn’t mobbed. He had a lot of interest but people let him get on with it.
And his Q-Rating is WAY higher than MJs.

Michael Jackson is a person who lives in a World of Delusion, he is Pathological and a Pediphile. He is a Freak who has no-one relevance in Music anymore, and doesn’t believe what he does is wrong.
I think the fascination with him comes from the fact that the world watched him grow up in the “Jackson 5” and because he had so much talent. The Moonwalk on the Motown special just blew people away. The video for “Thriller” blew people away. I’ve always thought his music was awesome. Then, at the height of his power, he gets all weird and basically goes downhill from there.
I think you hit the nail on the head Rabid Child. I think part of the reason I am so fascinated with him is I grew up hearing his music (I’m an 80’s child)
I still see young women (and men) in their early teens fighting to get a glimpe of him, or running towards his car/entourage.
All these giddy 13 year olds acting like lunatics over MJ.
WHAT the HELL is their experience with MJ that they act like this??? He ain’t done nothing in their lifetimes!!!
Michael Jackson had his first plastic surgeries during the “Off The Wall” and “Thriller” periods. Before he did “Off The Wall” most people figured no one would be interested in an adult Michael Jackson…in fact the Jackson 5 basicaly declined as they all lost their kid-appeal. He did have some moderate nose-work done about that time, but his image during that time was as a R&B/pop singer completely rooted in African-American culture.
“Off The Wall” more or less made him the ‘king’ of light R&B, but he wanted to cross over even more. At that time MTV still didn’t feature ‘black music’. So he made “Thriller”, which was a record with something for everybody. And he had more work done to give him a less “black” but still slightly exotic (but certianly not “white” image). It really, really worked.
His career went through the roof. He virtually remade MTV, he sold more albums than anyone, he won eight grammies in a single year…everyone wanted to be his friend then.
So undoubtedly, in Michael’s mind - this had to tell him that people loved the results of his new image, and he kept at it until he became a flat out freak.
…also about his accusations of being “manhandled” or roughed up by the arresting officers and being “locked” in a smelly toilet. Part of it is shyster lawyering by Geragos and delusions of racial persecution pushed by Jermaine Jackson (who obviously wants to redeem his lost brother). But the root of it is something more.
Michael probably has both a Howard Hughes-like aversion to “dirt” and “germs” (his face mask hides his nasal stump as well) - but he probably has a hard time dealing with physical contact with adult males. The fact is that a routine handcuffing, escort, and fingerprinting by a grown man constitutes “abuse” in his mind may explain why he feels much more comfortable with prepubescent males.
It’s so hard for me to look at MJ and try to see both sides of everything. I want to give him a fair chance in my own mind, and see if there is POSSIBLY a decent explanation for his behavior. Like, maybe he DOES just want to be a child forever. Maybe he really wants to be Peter Pan, and let all these kids come away to Neverland where they don’t have to grow up. . .
BUT NO. That’s not an acceptable explanation. Whenever I see him, there’s something sinister beneath his sweet, gentle facade. Something in his eyes gives me the creeps. He’s got the gaze of a cult leader, and all I can think of are children who have probably trusted him and been betrayed. I definitely think he’s a pedophile, or at least leaning in that direction. I remember seeing a picture of the entrance to his bedroom awhile ago. There were two little boy manniquins, one dressed as a boyscout, the other in some kind of military outfit, that formed an arch at the entrance to his bedroom. I wish I could find a link to that. It was really creepy.

I have taken the support of many of those close to Michael Jackson into account when attempting to assess his guilt or innocence.
And when I listen to MJ in the recent interviews, his demeanor comes off as a completely sexless person.
However I happened to observe Janet Jackson on TV last night in a spellbinding erotic performance whereby she slowly approaches an immobilized erect girl and shockingly, with outstretched palm, firmly carresses the helpless girls crotch. I don’t know for how long, because my wife changed the channel.
Of course I was reminded of MJ’s crotch antics in his videos. It doesn’t help me to believe that he’s celibate, and there is little other credible indication as to his orientation.
If Janet’s performance was live, then she wasn’t doing her brother any favors.

If anyone here read the vanity Fair piece from some months back, it was interesting, and it tallies with some things that Ms. Presley has said.
MJ is so pathologically in need of attention that he does all this crazy shit exactly FOR the attention. In his mind, any attention is better than no attention at all. According to his ex-wife, he’s crazy like a fox and knows precisely what he’s doing. He knows exactly the reaction he’s going to get, and he’s perfectly ok with that. If that’s what it takes to have his freakzoid face splashed all over the place, so be it.
I’m really starting to think, based on all this, that he really is innocent. The guy is sexless. He really does live on his own planet, and he is messed up. But I don’t think it’s about getting his rocks off sexually, I really don’t. He’s creepy enough in so many other ways.
Whether or not he sexually molested this child (or any other), he is a pathological liar … to the point where it’s scarey.
How can he sit there and LOOK someone in the eye and say he was locked in a bathroom for 45 minutes, when:
a) His LAWYER (Mark Geragos for Christ’s SAKE) was with him and wouldn’t have allowed that kind of thing to happen and
b) He wasn’t even IN the building for 45 minutes.
I can’t believe his handlers (or friends or family or legal advisors, etc.) haven’t told him that these blatent lies make him look mentally unstable (at best) and dangerous to himself and others (at worse).
Did anyone else notice that this is the second time on camera that he mentioned suicide? Once was in the Bashier interview (something about throwing himself off a building?) and the second time was last night (i.e. slitting his wrists rather than hurt a child). He needs to be under surveillence … because he’s acting more unstable by the moment.
Jesus, he sure ain’t no Cole Porter, that’s for sure.
