Michael Moore, have you at last no decency? (short)

It’s also great for allowing you to repeatedly, incessently and interminably specify exactly who you would and would not piss on. Do you have a fetish of some kind?

Who was the #1 proponent for invading Iraq?
The people shown in the mosaic died in what conflict?

I don’t see the disconnect.

This bears repeating as some seem to have missed it. It is not Moore’s work.

Did anyone else notice that it’s 30 columns and 47 rows? That’s 1410 pictures, but the bodycount is 648…

Further proof that Moore is either a liar or a dumb motherfucker or both.

Not that it’ll matter to the idiots who treat every word from him as if it were divine truth.

It’s a common saying. No watersports for me. I don’t care for it. I often find black women quite attractive, and I believe that some people find any interracial attractions to be a fetish.

He even fucks up stuff when he has somewhat legitimate point.

I immediately picked out three repeated photos without trying. But then I’ve been good at pattern recognition for a while.

The page doesn’t claim to be made solely from 648 photos, it just mentions that is the bodycount.

If you follow to the original source (american Leftist, link above), you will find the disclaimer "no photograph used more than 3 times. Fair is fair. Great, hard-hitting image. Stop wetting your pants.

If you look at the American Leftist site where the image originated, the artist admits that he used the images more than once but that he didn’t use any single picture more than three times.

I don’t see the fraud. Is there any claim on the part of either American Leftist or Michel Moore that each picture is a separate casualty. The figure 0f 648 casualties is printed under the image so I don’t see hoe it could be said that anyone is misrepresenting casualties.

Oh, and Catsix what part of “Michael Moore did not create this image” do you not understand? How does someone else’s political protest make Moore a “liar?”

I think it’s awesome.

What better way to remind us that there are real human beings dying in Iraq.

i noticed some faces repeat … and there is actually about 1500 pics in that collage but right underneath it says american deaths in iraq are in 600s.

that is the only thing i find wrong with it. it makes it look as if more people died than there really was deaths.

Oh, well I didn’t notice that. If that’s true, I think it’s dishonest.

I also apparently didn’t read the part of the thread where that was already pointed out. :o

Due respect, that’s the sort of narrow-minded vision with which the Democrats routinely defeat themselves. You people seriously need to start looking through the eyes of Americans who vote. One hint of disrespect to the families, and it’s over. Hopefully, Kerry is savvy enough to distance himself from this immediately, condemn it, and privately tell these people, “Hey, with friends like you, who needs enemies?”.

Gee, thanks for clearing that up. I stand corrected.

My church did a “thing” prior to the war. Hundreds of pairs of shoes were displayed in the sanctuary to symbolize the innocent Iraqi lives that would be lost in the war, especially children. That display didn’t affect me much at the time but it is something I remember as this “war” continues.

No, there is nothing wrong with that picture. Perhaps if it makes you uncomfortable, well, you oughta think about it. Moore is certainly not in the “make people comfortable” business. I think he leaves that to Disney.

well done American Leftist and Well done Michael Moore. When the republicans can’t argue they attempt character assassination, or make up flat out lies.

and this is only the American dead. if they were to include the innocent Iraqis killed, they could make the full mosaic of the PNAC.

Patience, people! Patience!

It’ll be 1410 before we know it.

I, for one, am seriously looking through the eyes of an American who votes; not just my own but most of the people I know. To your point, I think it’s likely that there are some friends and families that may take offense to this picture, but I believe that there are also some families who will defend it.

The Iraq conflict is a very divisive. Take a look at the current polls on Iraq. If I understand your post correctly, you believe the vast majority of Americans support Bush’s policies. Some statistics I see show a slight majority in favor of Bush, most show a more or less equal split. If the families of the killed troops reflect these numbers, A great deal of them do not support this aggression. It is my belief that if someone’s loved one died as a result of the policies of a President that they did not agree with, their contempt for that President would be strong and associate the President with why their loved one has been taken away from them.

This picture is not a campaign issue, it is a work of protest from a marginal activist group. It should be treated as such.

The problem I have with this image is that it manipulates photographs of soldiers who have given their life for their country. This is done solely to make a political point. I think that shows incredible disrespect for the dead.

If the image were made of unretouched photos of the soldiers … dunno that I’d agree with it, but at least I wouldn’t feel that the remembrance of these soldiers was being altered to suit a viewpoint. That’s just wrong, in my opinion.

If the family of every soldier represented in the mosaic has given permission for their image to be used this way, obviously my point is invalid. Somehow, though, I doubt that happened.
