I don’t agree with Honesty’s original point, and I see that he has backed off it, realizing that he probably was posting out of emotion.
However, I don’t think this post is half as cute as you probably think it is. Honesty’s point, albeit invalid, was racism, so exploiting the fucked up tragedy of the poor and disenfranchised in Detroit and Chicago to make a point that doesn’t address racism is just total bullshit.
For posterity, I’d like to point out the obvious: this thread started off with the OP expressing disgust at the a dead child’s pictures on the Internet, followed a link of that said picture, then followed by what can only be described as a running series of jokes about what occurred. Frankly, as I stated before, either you have neural software or you don’t, and believe me from the posts I’ve here, the lot of you are monsters; if I ever, ever heard a colleague, friend, family member, or a neighbor respond the way many of you have to Trayvon Martin’s corpse, I’d call the NEN myself to alert the authorities to keep an eye on them. Sick.
I grew up in the Deep South where racism is most certainly alive and still thriving today BUT amongst the idiots there exist many who don’t give a rat’s ass what color your skin is. I NEVER cared. So rest assured that all us white folks aren’t hatin’ on all you black folks …
This case is disgusting. I have never been so ashamed to be an American. Even if you think Zimmerman was acting in self defense, an unarmed teen boy is dead. It isn’t fucking funny, and people who make jokes about a dead kid’s body in the street are sub-human.
Well, I don’t think anyone has the right to say what’s funny and what isn’t for someone else. What’s funny to me may not be funny to you. And what’s funny to me can also be a tragedy to me.
I do think though, that this case is bringing out a lot of interesting sides of people. Not the jokes, but the straight up serious things I have heard from people about this case is eye opening. I love how some of the most venomous things are often quickly followed by, “I have NO emotional involvement in this case at ALL though. Ya gotta believe me. I am as casual on this topic as a Friday afternoon in a call center!” Ha, ok, guys.
So…if you buy that story, then would you say tm had no right to defend himself? Your opinion still doesnt look good…pussy boy shoots to kill for being hit…and he was trained in mma too…hmmm, its possible he might have inflicted that injury om himself , considering the missing blood on tms hands, whom gz claimed was covering his bloodied face…and that there was no blood on the ground after he supposedly got all bloodied there on the ground…
776.041 Use of force by aggressor.—The justification described in the preceding sections of this chapter is not available to a person who:
(1) Is attempting to commit, committing, or escaping after the commission of, a forcible felony; or
(2) Initially provokes the use of force against himself or herself, unless:
(a) Such force is so great that the person reasonably believes that he or she is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that he or she has exhausted every reasonable means to escape such danger other than the use of force which is likely to cause death or great bodily harm to the assailant; or
(b) In good faith, the person withdraws from physical contact with the assailant and indicates clearly to the assailant that he or she desires to withdraw and terminate the use of force, but the assailant continues or resumes the use of force.

I’m not seeing what you’re seeing, at least, in this thread. I see one guy who made a joke, who was effectively chastised for it. I see a couple jokes (or just plain insults) at Moore’s expense, but those are arguably deserved based on his past reputation for shit-stirring and attention whoring. It’s not as if he was the first to show the picture, nor is there anything we can do about the situation now. It fits the idea that he was just trolling for a reaction.
And, yes, while ideally Zimmerman should have called an ambulance, I can understand why he wouldn’t, even in a self-defense scenario. No one is in their right mind after shooting someone. You’re in a state of shock. And, clearly, by the time the cops got there, Martin was dead.
Furthermore, those cops would want to leave everything as it is for the photo they took. They would not want to disturb anything at the potential crime scene.
I know that how this case was handled fits very well into the story of racism. I’m still not 100% that racism had no part in this. And I understand as well as a white person can about the shit you have faced for the color of your skin. I do empathize with you. But I see no sign that the people in this thread are monsters.
At least, not about this
EDIT: I do think there’s no reason to use this thread to discuss people’s opinions of the case again. This thread is about what Moore did, not a rehash of the trial.
Don’t go there! Honesty was in the lab recording action potentials while I was a wee undergraduate, and has first-author credit(s) at PubMed in the field!
I asked to, ya know, read the article(s), but was ignored. Actually, not so much ignored as told that my puny brain couldn’t comprehend such lofty topics.
Fair warning.
(If you take a subhuman monster’s warning, anyway.)
Honesty has consistently contributed a bunch of racist nonsense including the idea that black people were better at determining if someone was lying. Nothing he publishes is going to be taken seriously if it has any room for conformation bias.
Thanks for warning but he broke my rant meter months ago and it’s still in the shop for repair.
