While I think Micheal Moore can be a bit of an ass, I think that he has a lot of intelligent and interesting things to say whether I agree with him or not.

Being born and raised in Flint I find it ironic that the only person to get rich and famous off Roger & Me was the Michael Moore.
He exploits the very people he claims to “defend”. I mean, when everyone in your hometown thinks your an asshole its kind of hard to keep your street cred.
I will admit I do enjoy some of his work subsequent to Roger & Me. The “Awful Truth” episode with the “Reverand” Fred Phelps vs. the “Sodomobile” was quite entertaining.
However, this latest gag only goes to expose what a pathetic loser this guy really is.

Actually, I thought Roger & Me was a great movie. If FOX News had half a brain they’d snap him up and give him a TV show right after O’Reilly. With that kind of populist one-two punch CNN would fold within a week.
I’m willing to allow that the whole diary entry was written tongue-in-cheek. But honestly, the humor is lost on me. If blatantly slanting the actual event to promote an agenda is humor, I guess Tass must’ve gotten off some real corkers in its day.

Stoid, et al, if MM was joking, he should be reminded of the axiom that if you have to explain the joke, it didn’t work. And apparently it isn’t just conservatives who don’t “get” this particular bit of “humor:” as noted, several of his own fans understand Moore’s diary interest as being quite serious.
In any event, if this is a bit of misunderstood humor, then a lot of people are misunderstanding it – why isn’t Moore saying he was joking? You’d think he’d want to clear up the misunderstanding.

I must be humor-impaired, because I didn’t get any semblance of a self-deprecating, ironic, funny tone in Mr. Moore’s diary entry when discussing his treatment. If it was meant to be tongue in cheek, his nose ended up in his shoe.
Ace0Spades, no one is complaining that Moore’s book is doing well. No one is complaining that Moore has a web log. No one is complaining that Moore espouses liberal viewpoints.
What I am complaining about is Moore’s utter mischaracterization of the event in question. Oh, and that whole “I’m a fighter for the common man” charade he puts on while simultaneously pissing on a janitor – an actual “common man” – who just wanted to go home.
As I noted in my OP, Moore’s hysterics do a disservice to those who have suffered real repression.
I am no great fan of Ann Coulter. Nor am I a great fan of Bill O’Reilley. Nor am I a great fan of Rush Limbaugh. When they pull tacky, dishonest shit, please call them on it. I encourage that.
But two wrongs do not make a right. It is patently stupid to justify Moore’s actions by saying “Ann Coulter does awful things, too.”
I don’t follow MM, but his diary entry just makes him look like a jerk. He rented the place and had a contract that gave him access until 11:00 and then get his panties in a wad because he was asked to leave at 11:30?

Again, what gives Moore special priviledges that others don’t have? Why should they extend a contract, a LEGAL document beyond their control, just because he wasn’t finished. They even gave him a little bit of time before telling him, hey, we want to go home.
