Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson fired from SNL

Well, I didn’t think Casey Wilson was all that funny, but Michaela Watkins’ internet blogger character, the first time I saw it, was one of the loudest laughs I had watching SNL all year.

Bummer.

Aw. I liked Casey Wilson OK, but I definitely thought Michaela Watkins had a lot of potential. I don’t know anything about the two people they’ve apparently hired as replacements.

Second that. Michaela had potential, imo, and was pretty funny in the stuff she did.

I didn’t like Casey as much, she was OK, but I didn’t quite buy her characters.

I also thought Michaela Watkins is one of the most physically attractive women SNL has had on thier cast for many years, though I dont think she was particularly funny. (the “Bitch Please” bit on Weekend Update was a train-wreck of “Gilly” proportions----sorry, Morbo)

I also think that Kirsten Wiig is absolutely stunning, a classically beautiful woman, but is painfully unfunny, and often cringe inducing to watch on SNL.

When I proclaim my undying love for her and spirit her away to our private love island, I promise I will dissuade her from any additional (so called) comedic aspirations!!!

I’m shocked nobody has said “that show hasn’t been funny in 20 years” yet. I hear that all the time, but most of the people haven’t watched in 20 years so how do they know if it’s funny?

There was a huge internet backlash against Casey Wilson from the first second she stepped on stage. I was willing to give her time to flourish, as they must have hired her for a reason, but it looks like she won’t get one.

I liked Watkins’ Anna Huffington.

SNL’s had quite a female drought lately.

See, now I loved Casey Wilson. I’m really surprised to hear this. I thought Michaela Watkins was pretty funny too. Sorry they’re both gone.

Oh, well, I have high hopes for Abby Elliot, if she’s staying & they’re going.

I think her Angelia Jolie sealed the deal. I dont remember her doing any other characters very well. Her Rachel Maddow didn’t have any Rachel Maddow qualities at all. Just a woman saying “I’m Rachel Maddow” does not a Maddow make.
