Michigan vs. Ohio state.

As an SEC fan, I’ll observe that Ohio State and Michigan are all a bunch of damn yankees, and I hope they both lose…:stuck_out_tongue:

The only reason I care about the game is because we’re having dinner with my MIL that night, and I would like her to be in a good mood  .

Do what I did one year when OSU played Miami for the Championship. Bet someone a box of chocolates that Miami wins.

It worked for me either way. If OSU won, Ivylad would be in a good mood. If they lost, I got a box of chocolates.

That’s funny, Vince Young wasn’t even born when the greatest game ever, the 1973 Sugar Bowl won by Notre Dame over Alabama 24-23, was played.

The Irish are my favorite team. A a native Ohioan, the Buckeyes are my third favorite. (The Golden Flashes of my alma mater Kent State are my 2nd favorite).

As Jon Stewart said recently, the Sunnis and the Shiites have a nothing rivalry compared to Ohio State v. Michigan. Go Bucks!

If you’re speaking as a Spartan, you could give them great advice on how to lose. :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually there is a way for both OSU and UM to lose. OSU wins the game and the celebrants riot in Columbus again and burn down half the University district.

I thought it was generally acknowleged that when anything in Ohio burns it’s an improvement, not a loss.

Such a shame, still sore about 2004. But the Dems had a big year in '06.

When UCLA played notre dame, I was hoping for the plane chartered by Texas would crash into the stadium (only injurying every player, for the season! Don’t wanna be nasty!)

Native Ohioan and current Michigan student checking in. I gave blood earlier this week in the annual blood battle between UM and OSU. If all goes according to plan, Lamarr Woodley will shove Troy Smith into Jim Tressel on the sidelines (a la JoePa last week), a mangled chin strap will sever one of Tressel’s arteries, and the ensuing transfusion will leave him with the blood of a Wolverine for the rest of his life.

Muahahahahahaha!!!

GO BLUE, BABY!!!

I’d settle for every player on both teams to be deemed ineligible.

Ball State? Illinois? Penn State?

I agree Michigan and Ohio State are both very good, but let’s not get ridiculous. Just because MSU can’t play with either team doesn’t mean that other, more compentent teams would meet the same fate.

Well I don’t know who sucks or who doesn’t, but I think the real winner from this game will be the University of Florida if they can win out. GO GATORS!

Traitor. I dare you to walk through downtown Columbus wearing a Wolverine sweatshirt.

How could you? I’m sure your parents are very disappointed in you.

Or USC. Stupid BSC rankings. Go Gators! (and Scarlet Knights! and Broncos! and whatever Pac 10 patsies the Trojans have left on their schedule!!!)

Oh, you just KNOW the public safety officials on both campuses and in both cities are anxious.

I’m on pins and needles. I’m getting used to losing to OSU, and I’m more than used to U-M delivering disappointment. But this year, it matters more! ohpleaseohpleaseohplease…

One nice thing, this may help bring the campus together again after the Prop 2 divisiveness.

Not if USC wins out.

Crazy crazy crazy fucked up college football weekend we just had (and don’t get me started on the pros).

Before saturday, if you asked me if OSU and UM shold play a re-match for the national championship, I’d have said “No way”, but after Texas, Cal, Auburn and Louisville all went down. And Florida SHOULD have lost. They still have a couple of good chances to blow it, though.

Shit. . .USC loses to the Beavers? And ND should have 3 losses.

So, fuck it. If Michigan shows they belong on the same field as OSU. . .let 'em do it again at a neutral site in January. No one else out there wants to step to the plate.

No one from outside of the Midwest, or without ties to that area, would really care about the rematch. Especially if they put it on a Tuesday night. I am interested in this weekend’s game, though.

I assume that you have seen the story about how the replay equipment was set up incorrectly and that VYs’ knee was down on the Selvin Young TD but it wasn’t caught until too late…

Looking at how far ahead Ohio State and Michigan are in their BCS rankings (.977 & .974) compared to the next highest (USC at .870, Florida at .850), there’s a very good chance those two might rematch each other. I don’t see anything wrong with that, FSU beat Florida in '96 and then went on to rematch in the Sugar Bowl where Florida won and became National Champions, so it’s not like there isn’t a precedent for it. Of course I don’t know if the BSC computers will see it that way.

And what, then, would they care about?

OSU against Texas again?

Michigan against Notre Dame again?

I have no ties to the area, but fuck if I want to see OSU 63, Rutgers 0 for the national championship.
