Michigan vs. Ohio state.

Ah, yes: A big football Saturday coming up! The eyes of the nation will be focused on the Iron Bowl as Auburn and Alabama play for the State Championship. Another thriller is expected on Tommy Tuberville Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Will Tuberville hold up his thumb to signify Auburn’s fifth consecutive win in the series? Does he already have a T-shirt with “Fear the Sixth Finger” printed and ready to wear? We’ll know the answer late Saturday.

It’s too bad that the Rust Belt game is scheduled at the same time. Maybe if some of you Big Ten fans raised enough hell, you could get your game moved to a night slot and somebody besides the player’s parents would watch it. :stuck_out_tongue:

D & R

Surely the eyes of the nation will be on Commonwealth Stadium for the clash of titans that will be Louisiana-Monroe vs. Kentucky.

I mean after all, we’re going to the Peach Bowl! Or maybe even the Outback Bowl!

Yes, but my burning question is: Is Ashley Judd going to travel with the UK entourage? The Peach Bowl ain’t that far from here so I WANNA KNOW!

Warning, integrated music. Nothing bad about it, I just hate web pages with integrated music. Especially when your speakers are up loud and you’re not expecting it.

And USC is going to lose. Go Bears!!

I - O ! !

OK - who’s up for singing Carmen Ohio?

Hubzilla, that video was depressing.

Still, I’ve seen U-M fans be almost that bad. The one thing that helps immensely are the recycling laws here. At $.10 a bottle or can, you can’t put an empty down without someone swooping in to take it off your hands. People can make some money doing cleanup, and they do.

From your lips to Oski’s ears! Woohoo!

Keep in mind that whichever team loses is going to drop quite a bit in this number.

I’m from Ohio (though not from the miserable warehouse wasteland that is Columbus), and I went to U-M, and these are two really good teams, so I’d like to be able to pick a side I want to win so I can give a crap. I’m having a limited amount of luck, however.

At the moment, I’m thinking that if OSU wins, their fans will (as usual) try to destroy Columbus. No one in self-satisfied Ann Arbor will try to destroy such a heaven on earth. So more post-game excitement will be had if the Bucks win.

So, go bucks. Yawn.

It’s really upsetting that LSU (my daughter’s school) has blown yet another season.

BURN THE WITCH!

Did I read this right? You went to Michigan, but can’t figure out who to pull for in this game?

What the fuck? Does U-M stand for Minnesota or something?

Mchg*n Sucks, Ann Arbor is a whore. 'nuff said.

Go Bucks!

I find it hilarious that people see that video and don’t realize that each case of beer is for like 10 people for the whole day. And we aren’t supposed to cheer for our team and insult the other team? Please! Grow the hell up. It isn’t personal. If you can’t stand the shouting, stay out of the football crowd.

Or you could go to U of I where they insult their own mascot to save the visiting fans the trouble.

Oh, and Wisconsin wouldn’t stand a chance against OSU this year, no how, no way.

Right. You all drink 2.5 beers apiece, all day.

How much for the bridge??

Unlike Illinois…

Starting at 9:00 AM? Ri-i-i-ght.

Now, now, don’t be cruel, expecting an OSU grad to understand decimals and division is just mean.

OSU has grads?

Now, be nice. OSU has graduated 18-28% of it’s scholarship athletes in basketball and football[sup]1[/sup]. Just ask Maurice Clarett*. And 68% of entering students graduate within six years[sup]2[/sup].

*Why haven’t OSU’s Clarett and USC’s Reggie Bush incurred NCAA sanctions at either of these schools?

  1. Graduation Rates for Athletes Hold Steady”, published December, 2000 by Welch Suggs in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
  2. Dynamic Stability” address delivered at the annual EDUCAUSE Conference by Dr. Karen A. Holbrook, President OSU on October 20, 2005.

Yes, you read rightly. I frickin’ hated the place. Also, it was grad school, not undergrad, so the alma mater thing doesn’t really get any traction with me.

Now, if Allegheny College were to play either one of these schools, I’d know who to root for.
