Microsoft Intellimouse question.

I am given many default settings for the mouse-wheel however I have an overwhelming need to add the <Ctrl> key as an option. Any ideas as to how I might accomplish this?

Thanks in advance.

Are you saying you want the ctrl key bound to one of the mouse buttons? If that’s what you want you can use the intellipoint software to do it. It’s just a matter of choosing ctrl from the list for the button you want. If you don’t have the software you can download it at Microsoft’s website. Is that what you meant or something else?

That is exactly what I want to do. I want my center mouse-wheel to act as the “Control” key. Unfortunately this is not an option anywhere in my mouse driver. I am hoping someone knows a registry tweak that will allow this function.

I can bind it with the intellipoint software. It’s running in the system tray in the bottom corner or I can get to the program by running it from the start menu. It gives you a pull down menu for each button and that menu includes ctrl. Sorry I can’t help more.

Doughboy,

Thanks for the advice. After poking around a bit, I realized that I was running on an old mouse driver. I deleted that and waa-laaa I have more options.

Thanks again,

Ben
