Considering you are light enough to walk atop snowdrifts, what is that, one or two orcs? I can beat that!
That’s not light weight, that’s technique. You just have to tread gently. ![]()

and carry a big bow. with apologies to President T. Roosevelt and the West African proverb he cribbed the statement from.
Ghân, cautiously following behind the Fighters + Archers remarks to Renee (who is still singing?), that Ghân should do the small Cures, because Renee’s Cures are more powerful.
Don’t do that- the poor boy’s going to start hurting himself worse if you push him!
Seriously, though, it’s a good idea for Ghan to cover healing for the moment so that we can keep the Song going as long as possible.
Deor will check bodies for goodies, while the party keeps everything covered.
Few questions.
Am I still invisible?
Is that a hole in the floor or a trap door that needs opening?
Does Thoroncir likes getting injured because it increases his chance of Renee laying on hands? ![]()
Yes, 2. it is just a hole, 3. I would guess yes.
Renee nods in agreement to Ghân while still singing. She then quickly writes out, Do not forget I can help your cures to the better when we work together. This song of Estë is especially excellent for that.
A reminder, this room has a double door opposite that is open and the hole in the floor. The Shaman’s chamber had a door and we left behind a passage to the right back at the cross passage.
Deor finds a scribble map on the orc that had the Crossbow.
Here is the Map that Deor finds.
The party obviously entered on the left hand side where a spiraling staircase is roughly shown. If you follow along, you will see that you have been through chambers 1, 2 & 5 and peeked into 4. 6 is down the hole in room 5 where you are.
(If the map does not work, please PM me)
Excellent! That will help a lot, and we can even (possibly) avoid the spiders!
Looks like no need to go down the hole then - we can just reform and advance in good order to 7, once we’ve recovered any available arrows and patched up Thoroncir’s latest badge of courage.
Since that’s near the Main Entrance, we may find most of the rest of the bunch there.
While you are patching [del]Renee’s Meat Shield[/del] Thoroncir up, I’ll go look ahead to 7 and see what might be around there.
Mulligan trots off to check the next room.
This is the largest room yet, a full 150’ across. There are 3 goblins in the room picking through belongings and bedrolls. The room matches well to the map, with a staircase heading down and a total of four sets of doors. All the doors are shut.
Ghân casts Cure Light Wounds on Thoroncir (who is down 5, right?)
Anything on the Shaman?

Can Ghân read?

I’ll wander back and let the party know they have some target practice in the next room.
I will also have a listen at the doors to see if there are Orcs hiding behind them in a trap. If there are let the party know, otherwise head down the staircase to see what is below.
Ghân looks over Renee fine writing and he remembers the worst part of his early training. Radagast stressed that his students must master both the written word and train their minds to memorizing long pieces of oration. He felt that without this solid background, the candidates would never be able to cast successful spells.
As Ghân casts his cure light , he feels Renee’s Song of Estë weaving with his spell and enhancing it. Thoroncir is healed.
Mulligan returns and checks the doors and hears nothing and has a look down the steps. He finds they lead to a long passage that heads back from whence they came. It leads to a smaller chamber of 70’ across through a small door that is already ajar. There is one orc just lying on the ground below a ladder. He looks injured.

Respectfully, why not? That seems like a logical treasure stash, and we know that there’s not much room and only one orc. Seems worth a look.
Glee from earlier on the Shaman: Thoroncir and Gwaelur taking only a brief time to check out the bodies, notice and retrieve one bulging small sack and a pouch on the Shaman.
What next party? Three goblins ahead.
Hey, while we are waiting to move forward. Any word on the re-enforcements that the signal fire was supposed to bring in?

What signal fire? It was never lit. The owl Brownie flew back instead.

Well, while this lot take care of the 3 Goblins in 7 and the lone injured Orc in 6. I will take a look at 9.
We are still missing 30 Orcs somewhere. I’d like to find them before we leave.
I’m going to assume we will send the message with Brownie.
The outside scouts find a good spot to build a nice large signal fire and another spot to observe well hidden the entrance we did find.
I assumed that this meant we were doing both.

Sorry about that, but it was still daylight and not a good time to light the signal fire. It is dusk now and we could send someone out to light it.

Is the information being relayed back to the team?
