Ghân admits that it would be jolly useful.
(He adds that he already has something of the sort … he would therefore have offered the pouch to Miron - but there are weapons / armour for the Ranger.
That Ruby pendant looks great on you!

To the best of my knowledge, the two items were loaned to Thoroncir and not given. I could be wrong.
The magnifier glass allowed all detection spells to work at +1 level including Identify but not only Identify. Every note I have indicates that Ghân got it. You are welcome to give it away. But it should help with some of your detection spells too.
Does the party start West and back to Minas Tirith?
If the pouch had been offered, Miron would’ve insisted that Ghân take it anyway: such a powerful artifact is far more valuable in the druid’s hands, and there’s presumably no reason for the party not to share and let Ghân hold on to any particularly valuable herbs they come across.
Plus, weapons and armor are shiny.
Thoroncir agrees on both counts.
And yes, let’s head for Minas Tirith, and divvy up the loot on the way.
Miron also likes the idea of heading for Minas Tirith and dividing the booty en-route.
Yes. There’s no tearing hurry that I’m aware of; we’ve all been working hard and could do with a rest. We can put a cavalry screen around the party at, say, about a quarter-mile radius… we need does the math six of them for that at a time, the rest in a bunch near the centre. I’ll tour the circle anticlockwise on Curàn, he can do with the exercise. If Miron’s willing, he can take the opposite side of the circle to me. Should anything come up en route that needs scouting, we have our various specialists to send in.
No doubt Ghân can oblige with a daily weather report as we go. And of course the Lady Elenwë can join either me or Miron if she pleases… I expect her wondrous mount tires about as easily as did Shadowfax of noble fame.
Make your “booty calls”
as soon as you are ready, people - I am sure there is enough to go around.
Miron will be happy to tour the opposite side of the circle. (Clockwise or anticlockwise for him?)
On the topic of booty, we should probably wait until everything has been identified, but Miron is obviously eying the black mail and the composite shortbow. I suspect that the armor should go to a more melee-centered character, but I’m not sure what everyone is currently wearing.
The party (and just the party with Hodwain) departs on **June 13th **and the items were identified that night. It is 225 miles to the road over the plains and scrub. This should take 7-8 days and then 150 miles by road to Minas Tirith. This should take 3-4 days. Weather permitting the return should require 10-12 days total.
The rest of Caramir’s growing army stays put. His reinforcements are slowly rolling in and Elenwë was a major part of that with her escort of 30 mounted elven archers. The party may well pass Legolas and Gimli escorting 50 Dwarves and 200 heavy infantrymen.
June 14th and 15th are peaceful.
Here is the complete Magic Item List and notes: A few items may need additional identification. Let’s decide how the division will be done and verify about the first two items being Thoroncir’s or not. As I said, I believe they were on loan.
Renee is interested in the Stone, Elven Pouch, Mithril Figurine or Ring of Warmth.
Brin is interested in the Long Sword or maybe one of the sets of chain mail though he normally disdain’s armor.
Before you leave: Riglo requested that a spare item be sold for him and that the money be left with a friend in Minas Tirith. He asks Thoroncir to please take care fo this for him.
Hodwain is curious, “Have I earned a pick?”
Miron suggests that Thoroncir and Brin need the armor and bow more than he does, so he’ll be happy to wait and see if there’s anything that nobody else wants. ^^
Not to mention getting a very nice belt last time with the same restrictions which did something similar :dubious:
Somehow though it would be wrong to ask for the Pendant, so I guess either of the daggers would be of use.
The Sea-Knight would like items 1, 2 and 5, if the other members of the party are agreeable (he got no loot from the party’s first adventure, if memory serves). If not all three, he’d like 1, 5 and/or 2, in order of priority.
As you might have guessed, Thoroncir supports Renee in her request for the Stone, Elven Pouch, Mithril Figurine or Ring of Warmth.
He will gladly comply with Riglo’s request about passing money along to a friend in the White City.
For the sake of goodwill, and in recognition of the Beorning’s help, he supports Hodwain’s request for a pick from the loot (unless Hodwain asks for something one of our PCs really wants, in which case we’ll need to negotiate or flip a coin).
The only thing I would care for is the axe. I am a collector of sorts. The ring of warmth sounds interesting, but I am fairly sure someone else could put it to better use than i could. So the axe is all I will take.
The Bow does work best for Thoroncir as it is a Strong bow. It barely helps anyone else in the party. However, there are actually too many items for Thoroncir, so we need to see how it works out.
Please put in your top 3 choices though and then we will resolve conflicts.
We actually only have two melee people at the moment. Gwaelur and Thoroncir. Gwaelur is a tank and Thoroncir is more of the jack of all trades with Lance, Bow and Swords. So someone else needs to ask for a set of magic chain. [del]I have feeling both armors will go to non-melee people as I think Thoroncir will lean towards Bow and Shield. We shall see. [/del]
Gil-Gandel and Miron and Brin are archers first and melee second.
Renee, Deor and Ghân are mainly spell casters.
The Hobbits can be melee, but are more stealth attackers or sling.
Please comment on Hodwain question and will some characters be getting 2 items?
If the party decides to vote Hodwain a pick, he asks only for the spear or knife. Party’s choice.
Forgot to mention this before. I think we should allow Hodwain the spear or knife or possibly even both. But he has absolutely earned a share.
Mulligan, your deeds have certainly earned you the right to ask - do you normally go unarmoured? I thought you’d be in leather. Or if you took item 14, I should think our herbalists could come up with something ethically acceptable but highly useful to load it with.
I would certainly approve a share for Hodwain, the spear is a very modest request. As to the other question, my vote is for any surplus items to be kept and given out, not sold (but after taking Riglo’s request into account). Magic items will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no magic items.
I’ll put down 10, 6 or 9 in descending order of preference.
Hmm, I’ll list 8, 9, and 14 in descending order of preference.
Rangers ARE allowed to wear chain under our rules, right?
A simple cloak and my wits are the only protection I have
Yes
CatInASuit, put up a short list of choices. We’ll resolve conflicts later.
After further discussions with the GM, I’ll drop Thoroncir’s request for 1 (armor) and ask for 5 (shield) and 2 (bow), in order of preference.
Elfstan is obviously very well equipped and doesn’t want to take items that others could use. He agrees completely that Hodwain has earned an item. Without him, the fight with the vampire could have ended much worse.
All that said, if the knife or dagger go unclaimed, Elfstan would ask for either one with the preference being the larger of the two. While probably being the nicest weapon Elfstan will ever hold, Sting is a liability when trying to sneak when orcs are in the area or when invisible. It would be nice to have an alternative for sneaking up and poking something in the back.
